PopClip appears when you select text with your mouse on your Mac. Instantly access context-specific actions including copy and paste, plus extensions like Send to Evernote. If you select text containing a URL, email address or file path, PopClip can open it. Select a misspelled word, and PopClip offers corrections. Select any text to do a web search with those terms, or select a single word to get the dictionary definition.
More than 100 free extensions are available, including Paste and Match Style, Translate, Send to Evernote, Word Count, Capitalize and much, much more. See http://pilotmoon.com/popclip/extensions.
Please note: PopClip works in most Mac apps, but not in all. For an up-to-date list of known incompatible apps, see http://pilotmoon.com/popclip/apps

• Fix: Avoid duplicate actions sometimes appearing in the PopClip bar.
• Fix: Avoid unintentional "auto copy" where PopClip could fail to restore the original clipboard contents after selecting text.
• Fix: PopClip will now better avoid appearing in non-text situations (such as graphics editing and games).
• Fix: A freezing bug that could happen when activating the Search action, or using extensions in a browser.
• Fix: Exclude PopClip from apps running under Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion and Crossover.
• Fix: In text editors, avoid incorrect text being pasted when the user presses Command-V immediately after selecting text.

Brilliantly helpful app
I bought this years ago and cannot remember how much I paid for it but it has been in daily use ever since, until I upgraded to Mojave and it stopped working. It was only then that I realised how useful it was and how much I missed it.
Eventually I got round to asking for help and received an almost immediate reply with instructions to fix it. It worked and now I am back to using, and appreciating, a fabulous little app. Sure, I can do all it does without it but I just don't want to.
It's one of those little apps that makes work on the Mac so much easier. I can't think of anything it needs to improve it; just please keep it working and don't be tempted to add features for the sake of it.
I prefer using the copy and paste of the popclip menu rather than the tradiotnal mouse click. It's faster and I am therefore more efficient in my work.
I also use the url link shortener and adding notes to the Scrivener app, as well as the bold, Itlalic and undeline formatting options.
With another app and script I have added gestures to the trakcpad and mouse so that I can pull up the menue with tip tap gesture, or keyboard short cut.
Brilliant, but needing an update (please!)
This is the single most useful ‘utility’ app I have on my computer; it’s not just that it saves time (which it does, hugely), but that it encourages a very fluid workflow, particularly with its free extensions, which greatly expand its out-of-the-box usefulness. It really just feels part of the OS.
I marked it down a star because it appears to have a long-standing bug which causes it to crash if you use it to italicise or embolden text (workaround: do something else first – a web search or whatever, then it seems to work fine afterward). I’m hoping the developer will release a fix soon, as it’s truly a brilliant piece of software.
