Prequel: Photo & Video Filters 4+

Please read this and make this available for Samsung !!!

So I Love the app, I really do. But I have a Samsung phone, and I’m having to use my iPad. So I have no way of sending the photos I edit to people and that’s basically the whole reason I do it. it’s for my Instagram and people enjoy seeing what I make, as well as me loving to do it as well. So, I would really appreciate it if this was on Samsung as well, so I could edit and send photos with out the hassle of emailing it to myself. I really do enjoy this app, I really do, but I might have to find a new one to use and stop recommending this since a lot of people I know use a samsung. I’m not old enough to buy my own phone - and my parents won’t even consider buying me an iPhone. Please read this and make this available for Samsung. Thank you!

Hello! Thank you very much for such a detailed review! Sorry for such a long reply. We have taken into consideration your request and released an Android version. Though, it takes more time to adapt all the filters to it, because of Android's technical aspects and because there are lots of different devices using this system. We strive to provide the same quality of the product to all of our users and feel sorry for the inconveniences that you used to have. Our clients are our priority!

I had loved to use this for my art to add filters over the pieces for years now. A lot of the filters were behind a paywall but I used what I could to try to replicate using the sliders. Recently the star symbol that indicates a filter or slider is behind a paywall has been taken down, leading me to not actually know which ones are for members unless I get to the end and it comes up with a note. When using the sliders you cannot see the only button on the screen that shows if you’ve used something under a membership so I have to go back through my progress to try to work out where it was that I got membership. I don’t pay for things on apps and so it has rendered it a lot more stressful to try to get a look that I like. It’s definitely leading me to look for alternatives. The effects for free are good but at this point there’s only about 7 filters to use out of many behind a paywall.

Hello! If there is a Star symbol on the Next button, it means that the applied effect is a premium one. Prequel is still a free app. There are over 30 free/partially free effects and over 40 filters. Also, some of the effects will become free again in March ;) At the same time, some of the older features will be locked for premium. Sometimes we need to add new paid options because we need to keep on working on the product, and to be able to continue creating new features.
Currently, we've got great special offers: annual subscription for ca. 15 U.S. Dollars per year. You may find this offer on Prequel's main screen > PRO button > Close the regular offer > Tap on Open the special offer.

This app may be free to download but everything is locked behind a paywall. It’s unfair to those who cannot spend money on a subscription, at least before some effects were free and I could understand how better effects cost money, but everything being locked is disappointing, the effects are nice though and can be a nice addition to your videos/pictures but many use this app for fun/for entertainment purposes and I wouldn’t spend money on a subscription just to add effects to my videos/photos when there are other apps like this that exist, and don’t require a subscription to use

Hey there! We know it can be frustrating when you have to pay for the effects you’re used to. But sometimes we have to change the content of the app and the payment parameters to keep creating cool stuff for you. Especially since Prequel is still free, and we’ve got free content that we’ll keep expanding with new tools. We’re also affected by global economic stuff like inflation and rising prices for our partners’ services (server fees, etc.). And this is just one of the factors. There are many factors and processes behind any price increase, whether it’s products in a supermarket or mobile apps. We don’t like all of them, but we have to adapt to the realities of the present time. Maybe in the future, things will change, and old effects will become free again. But we can’t promise that now. Any changes require a lot of analysis and collecting data, as we follow a data-driven approach to development.
We have different subscription plans, but we’ve got the best one right now - it’s only $15 per year! You can also find plans for all the countries that have ever been used in Prequel. If you’ve used trial days or another subscription, just open the App Store > Account > Subscriptions > Prequel (even if it’s not active) > View all plans. You can buy any subscription plan from there.
