How does the Promova Premium work:

We are offering monthly, 6-month, and annual subscription plans. Currently, a 7-day free trial is available for an annual Premium subscription only. If you are happy with the features Promova offers, after this period, you will be automatically charged the full price of the chosen Premium plan, which was indicated on a payment screen during checkout.

If you want to cancel the free trial or your current Premium subscription, please make sure to do this at least 24 hours before the end of the current payment period. Otherwise, you will automatically be charged a price according to a chosen Premium plan. To manage your subscription, please go to the AppleID Account Settings. Please keep in mind that deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

Also, please pay attention that Promova has both mobile and web versions that are connected. Therefore, if you purchased the subscription on the web, and you do not see the current subscription in your Apple ID Account Settings, please go to your Promova's Account (mobile or web version) > My purchases > Payments & subscriptions > Cancel subscription.

When a subscription is canceled, access to the app's courses and features will expire at the end of the current payment period.

Improving your vocabulary can be fun

The app is very visual, which is super helpful at the time of learning new vocabulary. I also like the variety of exercises to retain the new words. The only feature that I think is missing is something that could help users review the new content after X amount of lessons/time/etc

Scam app beware - Bait and switch

If you were lured in by the read along feature the push in their ad campaigns then beware. The real app has no such feature (and judging by old reviews hasn’t for sometime so unsure why it still features in their ads). Luckily I cancelled in time but beware it’s very costly if you don’t.

To use the app you will have to sign up for one of their subscriptions, you are pushed towards the default annual plan with a 1week trial. If you forget to cancel you will be down close to €100. Seeing as the app is pretty lacklustre they seem heavily reliant on users forgetting to cancel their subscription.

Some very dark patterns, I'm undecided if the developers are genuinely trying to run a learning app with some morally questionable sales tactics or they are just openly running a scam.

We appreciate your interest in our book-reading feature. The storybooks are now available among the lessons in the General English Course. They can be accessed both on mobile and web applications by scrolling the page with the lessons down.

To locate the General English Course, please, follow the instructions below:

1) Tap on the flag in the upper right corner
2) Click the “Add” button
3) Then choose the English Course with an explanation in English
4) Select the General English Course

Be advised that the books now include an English explanation of the words. To see the meaning of the highlighted word, simply tap on it. Besides, you may hear the pronunciation of the word by pressing the “sound” button.

We understand that subscriptions are a significant commitment and its cancellation can sometimes be overlooked. Hence, we do our best to send out reminders before the trial ends to avoid any surprising charges.

To assist with this, we invite you to cancel the subscription in question by using the following process:

1. Click on, or copy/paste this link into your web browser: https://promova.com/profile/settings/payments-subscriptions
2. Log in to your profile.
3. Navigate to the ‘Profile’ tab.
4. Tap “Settings”.
5. Go to the “Payments & subscriptions” section.
6. Here you will find your subscription.
7. In the top right corner of your subscription box, click the three dots and select “Cancel Subscription”.

Your feedback is essential for us to address these issues and step up in areas where improvement is needed. We absolutely don't condone or employ scamming or unethical sales tactics and it pains us greatly that you have felt this way.

Very bad experience

I didn't like the learning method and wanted to cancel my subscription the same day. I appeal to everyone to be very careful before paying for their membership on the app. The unsubscribe process is unnecessarily long and to get your money back, support agents will tell you to use the app for at least 7 days. They expect you to change your mind by then. You should be persistent and immediately say that you do not want to use the application and that you want your money back! Only then will they tell you that the company's policy is that they try to keep you for 7 days and they will tell you that you will still get your money in the next 14 days. All of this is very unprofessional, frustrating and a waste of your time.
