Be wary of in-app purchases

A nicely designed app. A number of fake profiles on there, and even though I live in London, there weren’t tons of faces on it: but neither of those are exactly the app’s fault, and the second issue will be resolved if more people join it.

HOWEVER – I made an in-app purchase for a digital token that allows you to start a conversation with someone without needing to match with them. It cost £3.99. I was billed, but never received the token. I contacted customer care about the issue, and said could they either give me the token, or refund me. They refused to do anything about it, even after I showed them my bank statement proving the money had come out of my account.

Here’s the curt message they sent me after I requested their help for the second time:

“Hello,

By purchasing a subscription, you agree with Recurring Payment Policy, Terms of Use and Returns Policy. This means that we do not grant refunds.

I thought this was incredibly poor customer care, as a) they had proof of my purchase, and could surely check their systems to see if I’d received the token, and b) since all I asked for, to remedy the issue, was for them to provide my account with a digital token – an act which would cost them nothing – I was amazed they didn’t do it.

Key takeaway: Lots to commend about the app, in terms of its design. But be wary of any in-app purchases here. It may just be money down the drain.

Newly Joined

I joined for a 1 years membership and straight away realised this was a big mistake. It’s a shame because the concept is great but I soon found out that there is virtually no members in my local area and the very very few chat replies always start with a picture of a red heart saying hi. Any further communication from the respondents despite clear questions and messages get a limited response of one or two syllables. You ask where they are from and normally they reply they are from your locality but when asked which part it takes ages for them to respond if at all and suddenly the chat is disconnected by the person! You just can’t get any meaningful conversation going and they don’t seem to have any other way you can communicate with them outside of the app!!! The strong impression is these are not real people but photos of women who are put there by the app providers to give one the impression someone is in your area when there are none. After all, why would someone make contact but never want to have a proper chat with you. Everything about this app is so limiting and I have totally wasted my money. I even sent an email to the app providers within the first 24hrs to say I had made an error and wished to unsubscribe and get my money back as I saw the limitations of contacts but got absolutely no reply. I have given one star only because the concept appeared good, otherwise It would be NIL! Very unhappy customer.

Found lots of pretty women on Pure

I'm currently working as a manager in supply chain management for a big corporation and I truly have to be very flexible in order to cope with the demands from this profession. I like the app and I'll definitely use it again in case I'll be in a different city for longer. Also, thanks for not spamming with ads all the time, I like that too haha. 5 stars!
