Description
COBWEB Design Studio presents 'Qaida Noorania'.
An app for beginners to learn the proper recitation of the Holy Quran.
Learning to, firstly, recite and then understanding the Quran was a practice that was carried under supervision of maulams. However with the geographical spread and the logistics involved, this teaching practice has evolved to become limited to parents teaching their children or resorting to paper versions of Qaidas. Where both methods are an alternative to guided teaching, the audio talafuz/tajweed is compromised the most.
To fill that 'void' and using the portability, reach, multimedia capabilities and wide acceptability of the iPad, 'Qaida Noorania' is an 'app' for that!
This Qaida Noorania application features include:
• Bilingual recitation in Urdu / Arabic (zabar,zeer,pesh / fatheh,kasra,dumah)
• 17 lessons (basic - advance) indexed
• 1078 text buttons (individual letters - aggregated words)

Best I’ve seen!
Just downloaded it and had a play around to see how it works, and I must say I’m so far impressed!
Took me a LONG time to find a Qaida app as thorough as this one - well done to all those involved in its creation!

Good app but could be better
AawRwB.
1.) I would suggest adding a function of highlighting as it'ts being recited and we can choose whether it's word by word or letter/harkaat by letter (with the corresponding tashkeel or i'raab).
2.) I would also suggest a info button at the top per page that we could click on to show (/hide) which tells you the details about the lesson and the tajweed rule (as well as teaching, testing or questioning the learner tips for the person teaching it or supervising them).

This is an excellent effort and suggestions below, if implemented as an update, would make it even better: (1) a feature that allows chosen letters/words/lines to be repeated x number of times (2) limiting the child's lesson so s/he can't go beyond that eg. Line 2-4 (3) allowing creation of profile for each kid and remembering how far s/he got (4) locking lessons so the kid can't go on to lesson 2 until s/he's mastered lesson 1. Most of these features are available in a CD sold by Al-Qaida Al-Noorania, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. You would do well to buy that and incorporate the features in that CD in your program after taking their permission of course. JazakAllahu Khairan. May Allah bless your efforts.
