Description

Profiles made up of candid videos.

The only dating app where it feels like you’ve already met.

Get that filtered content or formal, stilted, interview-like videos outta here (yoikes).

Think naturalistic footage taken by your mates – dancing at a festival, chowing down on a burger, diving into the deep blue.

Feel free to let em hear your sweet sweet voice though, it’s a pretty big thing when it comes to attración.

On The Sauce, you can see what someone is really like: how they move, their facial expressions, their sxc voice – all the things that actually make someone hot.

We know that you’re so much more than just a photo.

We’re the app that takes the guesswork out of a great date, before you’ve even sent your first like.

95% of dates on The Sauce have led to a second date, that’s how easy it is to gauge what somebody’s like.

So, if you’re sick of the ick, feel like it’s time to get over your ex or looking for someone to get lockdown and flirty with…. The Sauce is the place to do it.

Sick of dry dates? You’ve come to the right place.

The next new thing!

This app is so good honestly, I’ve been on a few dates (from dating apps) before and just found I wasn’t attracted to the person in real life like I was in pictures. But with this app you get to see the persons body language and persona in their uploaded videos before you meet them so you get to know them so much better!! I’ve been on one Qemistry date so far and I really really liked him, so fingers crossed!!! Would definitely recommend!!

Videos AND MY LAST NAME?!

I don’t understand why this app is advertised everywhere but fails to remotely mention that it requires videos and your last name displayed.

Just because I’ve found mutual attraction in a stranger doesn’t mean I want them to have my FULL NAME!! What the hell. This makes me feel very insecure and I wouldn’t be handing out my last name until I had AT LEAST met them in person. Strangers have no need for your last name and it makes me feel VERY unsafe.

And the video system is my idea of hell. We’re in a pandemic what casual candid videos am I supposed to have of myself?? Who takes videos of themselves in general???? Where they actually look attractive? And you can tell which person you’re supposed to be looking at? WHO? No one I know. Unless you’re a complete narcissist. You can’t even access the app without videos :|

The app comes across as a little bit ableist as I’m disabled and vulnerable to covid I’m not going to waste my time and energy to get dressed up and take videos for a dating app but I should still be able to use it. Should I just upload videos of the dog instead?

Anyway for me this app was a waste of time and I don’t understand how much difference a video as opposed to a picture could make. It’s not peoples appearance or catfishing that’s the issue it’s the over availability, novelty and blasé attitudes that make online dating horrible. It’s an internal problem not external.

Developer Response ,

Hello, I'm so sorry you've been disappointed by your experience with The Sauce. We'd love to speak to you, hear more about your concerns, and to help you create a profile (if you'd still like to). In fact, if anyone with a disability has any feedback we'd really love to help and find ways we can make the app a more inclusive space for you. Please email team@thesauceapp.co.

To help address some of the concerns raised above, we ask for your surname for security reasons, it is not shown to other users at any point, even after you've matched – we'll definitely make that clearer going forward. Finally, The Sauce is a video only dating app. Profiles made up of videos have the dual advantage of generating better quality matches whilst importantly combating the racial bias and prejudice on photo based apps. Members often find their friends have the best videos of them. We'd love to help you or simply hear more about how we can improve the experience on The Sauce. Please do reach out to us at team@thesauceapp.co.

makes first dates less daunting

I was a little reluctant to do the whole “video” thing, but I actually had lots from insta stories. Went on a date recently that I found on here and it felt a lot less daunting meeting someone new. Felt like I knew what he would be like already. Have had some absolute shockers on other apps, so it’s nice to find one where you can weed out any potential weirdos and see what they’re actually like 😂
