Learn Arabic with this App

I paid for the basic plan at the start of six weeks but after a few days I changed to pro plan thinking I would get quicker access to the lessons. I had found this app and did not want to lose it.
As a mother I would say It is a very good app but the subscription cost is a bit high.
I think an explanation would be good to know what the student will learn in the basic plan and what they will learn in the pro plan.
I always wanted to learn Arabic as it is our Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him’s Language and wanted to understand the Quran as it is the word of Allah.
I try to use the app every day.
The lessons are very short and easy to understand. I always go back to the previous lessons to go over I have learnt.
After every story their is a test.
I would say that sometimes pronouncing the words can be hard. And not all words have sound. If all the lessons had sound that would be easier.
The lessons on Salah were very beneficial and now reading Salah it feels good knowing what I am reading.
I have been trying to study Arabic for a few years it has been difficult but now with this app it makes it easier.
May Allah swt reward all the people who have helped to make this app. Ameen.
When someone asks me where I am learning Arabic from, I tell them about this app.

Great, but not there

I am now on lesson 24, and have done 120 words so far. The app is great, it’s well designed, and it jumps you straight into learning the Quran meaning. I mean it’s fantastic. So why the 4 starts?

I found that the meaning of the words doesn’t match exactly any Quran translation I have seen. Meanings are similar but not the same. As you progress, the words meaning you learned, now becomes something else, example, Min has always meant from, now at lesson 24 it means with, and various words just keep changing. So when you revise the words, the same word has completely different meanings, no explanation or context is given to understand why. Which is very hard to track, and confusing. The other issue I found is the Arabic words sometimes don’t match, example Salaah/prayer seems to have an extra fatah, so you would read it Salawah. There are a few like this, example Zakat. However due to the extra fatah it reads zakawat.

Nevertheless, excellent app, may Allah reward you for your efforts.

Thanks for your feedback! Small words like من can have a modified meaning based on their context, just like in English. For example: look up [at the sky]! And look it up [in a dictionary]. But the base meaning of من continues to be "from".

We will look into the صلاة and زكاة example inshaAllah.

Excellent App Worth the money

This app ticks many boxes:
- teaches words that are the most frequent in the Quran from the start so within a few lessons you can understand at least some of the structures of the verses and as time goes by contexts
- aesthetically modern and pleasing which is important to lure you in again and again so you don’t lose interest or get bored as with most learning platforms
- tests and retests words you have learned so that the words are stored in the long term memory
- words are built around surahs and ayahs so it gives some context, translation of some verses and nuggets of information about the stories and surahs as you go along
- easy to use with no major bugs

Considering all of this, it is clear that the makers have spent a lot of time, effort, thought and possibly money to create this.
Subscribing and making monthly payments wouldn’t make a huge impact in the value you are getting from the app (as it’s basically the same app without a one lesson a day limit) but it will enable the makers to continue making and keep the app alive. Imagine the benefit the people can take from this if the app continues because of our funding. It’s like building a school. Totally worth it!

The app could be improved by embedding more grammar or at least explaining how Arabic works or is different to English for better understanding.
