Racefully needs to be able to track your location in the background so you can listen to music, take a call or lock your screen while you’re recording an activity. We’ve made some improvements to how the app handles the new iOS location permission. This includes a voice prompt if you’re recording an activity in the background when the iPhone’s permission confirmation dialog is displayed. We’ve updated autopause for walking. Recording now resumes when you’ve moved a distance away from the location where you auto-paused, even if you’re walking slowly. You can use the resume sensitivity setting of autopause to set how far you should move: high sensitivity = 5 meters, medium = 10 meters, low = 20 meters We’ve fixed several bugs, including one that prevented the name of a scheduled activity from being saved. When you tap on an image thumbnail in a chat, it will expand to show the full image. The “Start/Pause/Stop” tappable area during an activity recording has been reduced to the center area of the screen to avoid catching it accidentally at the edges of the screen. Racefully now supports workouts on static bikes and treadmills that are synced from third-party services. It’s time to get training for the first race of 2019! This release adds support for TrainAsONE’s new Couch to 5k programme and new settings for training runs. The Couch to 5k programme uses the same adaptive technology as TrainAsONE’s award-winning training for more experienced runners, so even if you’re just starting your running journey, you will get a plan that suits you. Just go to Training in Racefully, sync to your TrainAsONE account, and choose the Couch to 5k training plan. We’ve got two new settings for training runs that you can find by pressing the cog button on the Training screen: • Extend final step : with this turned on, the final step of the workout will continue beyond its scheduled end time until you manually stop recording. We’ve been using this to give us a chance to run home after a training session without needing to record a separate activity • Time and pace updates : choose how often the audio commentator updates you with stats during your session. There are separate settings for easy steps and hard steps - we’ve found we prefer more frequent updates when we’re sprinting! In addition to the training improvements, we’ve added a list view to the Activities screen so you can quickly scroll through and bring up that race you did in 2018 where you totally nailed it. Toggle between the card view and the list using the button at the top-right of the Activities screen. Racefully will remember your choice and show that view the next time you open up the app. We also fixed a bug if you chose a step goal of zero steps (but who would do such a thing??)
