Awful

Nowhere near as good as iPad daily edition! It’s basically the final draft of the Racing Post newspaper online which you scroll through on your screen, it’s not made for online use at all and you’ll be swiping back and forth annoyingly whereas the daily edition for iPad one you could click straight to where you need to go. I was under impression you’d be able to watch past races when they advertised it but don’t ask me how, this app is useless! It’s just a newspaper on your phone, obviously they are saving money themselves by doing this but subscription is the same as the sleek daily iPad edition which they are discontinuing. It’s better using the free app because you can check out a lot more form with ease. If I wanted the newspaper features only I’d get it delivered to my door not go online, it’s a ridiculous step backward and I can’t make sense of it. Terrible move and customer lost!

How to ruin a good product

Although it is only two days in I am very disappointed in the new App. My frustrations are as follows:
1) Product - the app now just seems to be a copy of the paper. If I want the paper I will buy the paper as I do on weekends and race days.
2) Download time has massively increased from a couple of minutes and this is extended as my iPad shuts down during the long download.
3) Readability is considerably worsened as you have shrunk to the screen at approx 25% of the paper view. You now have to enlarge and move all over the page.
4) Navigating is painful with 112 pages compared to the old system of Content/Cards/Results which you could expand as required.
5) Usability if you want to look at a race and the form all the simple click through detail is no longer clear, unless I am missing something.

Hopefully I have got all this wrong or am failing to use properly but currently in summary it is slower to get, difficult to read, painful to navigate and less practical to use.

I will persevere for the month but currently I’m likely to cancel thereafter

Bring back the old app!

The old app suited me down to the ground but I’m not even entertaining this one now as I’ve been completely put off by it really. I used to enjoy the interactive side to it instead of it just being a copy of the newspaper which is apparently harder for navigating through also. Plus, it was ideal for me being able to just download one off copies. I might only read them at the weekend or for big events or meetings that I am going to, so paying a subscription for me is not even worth it! Bring back the old app and daily one off purchases and I’ll be miles happier again! Haha
