Description
Select names randomly in an entertaining and engaging way.
A Fun, classroom management tool, designed for Teachers, that will engage and entertain students.
Simply create one or more groups (a Class or Group of Students). Add students to those groups. The App will then randomly select students from the highlighted group. All names will be displayed before a name is displayed for a second time.
Features:
• Call on your students in a different order every time.
• If you want to exclude a Student/s from the selection, simply turn them off in the settings screen. This can be particularly useful for any absentees.
• You can delete and edit Groups / Group member names easily inside the app.
• The number of Students / Groups is limited only by the amount of free space on your device.
• Use a FREE Dropbox account to backup and “Sync” your Groups/Group members with your other devices. You can even use the same Groups/Group members in our “Random Team Selector Pro” app (separate purchase).
• If you have a lot of Groups/Group Members to define you can even import them from a text or CSV file.
• The teacher can determine how many times any single name can be displayed. This avoids the problem of students “switching off” once their name has been selected once.
• This is a Universal App for iPhone and iPad.
• The Animated Graphics and multiple themes make the whole experience a pleasure and keep things fresh for the students. You can even create your own backgrounds.
• Sound effects and background music help make the app more engaging but can also be switched ON/OFF individually as required.
• You can apply a “Passcode” to access the settings screen.
• Need to know where you are in the selection process. We have added a display option that shows the number of names drawn and the number of names remaining in the particular selection process.
• Provide Feedback to the Developers directly from within the App….let us know how we can make it better.
• Share with your friends on Facebook or Twitter from within the App.

NEEDS IMPROVING
I would like to see a more fun way of the names being selected, for instance just appearing on screen just doesn’t cut it. Make them all sweep in and jump about then pick the unlucky learner.
Add a random headline like, “the lucky winner is”:-
or
“John you have been picked because your cool”
or
“Peter your best in class as you’ve been picked”
How about a water fall with the names toppling over until only one is left.
Why not put parachutes on their names and have only the winners name open his or her parachute and land safely or the other way round the parachutes open but the unlucky one lands in a manure heap and has to answer the question.
Think fun.

Thanks for your feedback. I do appreciate you taking the time to provide the constructive critisisium. The main focus of the app is not so much to display a "Winner". It is more to ensure all members of the class are given the opportunity to participate, and no one is left out. It is often the case that the more exuberant students get picked to answer a question or complete a task. Using this app the teacher can ensure even the most reserved student gets a chance to shine.
I feel it may be too distracting if there were a big "Fanfare" each time a students name were displayed, it could also become annoying after, for example, 26 names were drawn.
I hope that helps put the purpose of the app into context and helps to explain why the app works the way it does. I do think your "and the Winner is" suggestion is an excellent idea...perhaps for a future app with a slightly different focus.

Further to my previous review, using the pro version has also given me the ability to choose a theme or select my own and also password the settings section which is very handy. The Groups also have a counter for the number of active names in the group and the individual names can be turned on or turned off. This saves much time. Excellent app developer. Best on market.

Not working
App was working fine for ages, now all of a sudden shuts down as soon as I try to open it.
