Best Way to Teach Children to Read
My son and I started using this app after he turned 4. My goal was for him to be able to read before he starts Reception (we are currently in England). We spend a few minutes almost everyday and he has enjoyed all of our sessions. It is amazing how his little mind works and picks up the method of learning with full cooperation and participation (sliding letters, writing)as well as play (I let him do the games after a lesson as a reward). After a few sessions he has been reading books independently, and different signs and statements he can see around him. His teacher has commended him for his reading when he officially started school. My son enjoys reading. We read different books daily.
As a parent, I definitely recommend this app. I know it comes with a small cost but the progress and success it brings paves a long way.
Disappointed and annoying
While this is a good app for kids who have zero reading experience. It is very expensive and It does not accurately place children at their correct reading level which means your child has to complete levels of work they already know. The placement assessment is the same whether your child is 3yrs old or 8yrs old. If you click yes to every assessment question you get placed at level 24 and there’s no way to move forward !! This is frustrating and I hope the creators can look into this. Please give parents some more control to fast track the levels so kids can be matched to their correct level. Otherwise they loose interest !!
Unusable
Although keen to get this working/came recommended, I had to give up…. It is riddled with glitches. I wasted a lot of time installing/un/re-installing, emailing their customer services. Overall unresolved and slow to reply. Don’t waste your time!
