Remo Duplicate Photos Remover 4+

My iPhotos library is over 10yrs old and had in excess of 30,000 photos and lots of duplicates. I never got round to clearing them out as every time I tried I gave up as it was so laborious a task.
Ten years on with the advances in technology and I look for 4* Plus reviews across Google and decide that Remo has the best reviews. However reviews are one thing what is the actual real world experience?
I have to say it is remarkably good, scanned my Library as it is extremely large it took 35 minutes. But you can be getting on with other things as it will continue running in the background and notify you when it has your results.
It found hundreds in the Exact Match category and hundreds more in the similar category. You are presented with a Thumbnail view of each duplicate. I only looked at a few around 20 just out of curiosity and that it was doing what it says on the tin. Because if you were going to look at them all you may as well use the old way within iPhotos. There comes a time when you have to trust the app and go for its recommendations. So I did just that and deleted everything it recommends.

“ Wallah “ all done nice and clean saved loads of storage on my iPad and iCloud as it removes them from both. Took around an hour all told, but as I said during the hour I wasn’t sat waiting I was using my iPad.
So it’s 5 * from me. And a thumbs up to the developers.

I don’t really leave reviews on apps but me personally, I feel this apps certainly deserves its credit! After having so many photos stored on my phone, I tend to save old photos and not delete the old. However, this app allows you to scan through your photo album and pick up any duplicate allowing you to delete them all in one block! All free of charge too.. Worth the download and if I could give it 6 stars, I would! Keep up the good work

With no similar option on Google Photos this App quickly finds duplicates, & although a bit clunky in choosing what to delete,after it’s scanned your photo library’s total inventory, it’s fairly easy to quickly check the Dupes it’s found are in fact real dupes & choose to delete- however when it offers to ‘rescan?’ It apparently found a further load of supposed Dupes, but many of those weren’t at all exact copies. It does give you a choice however of searching for ‘exact’ Dupes or ‘Similar’ ones & I quickly realised I’d set it to search for ‘similar’ photos which almost all proved to be completely different! So check before deleting! But all in all a great App & very quick too!
