Remo Duplicate Photos Remover 4+

My iPhotos library is over 10yrs old and had in excess of 30,000 photos and lots of duplicates. I never got round to clearing them out as every time I tried I gave up as it was so laborious a task.
Ten years on with the advances in technology and I look for 4* Plus reviews across Google and decide that Remo has the best reviews. However reviews are one thing what is the actual real world experience?
I have to say it is remarkably good, scanned my Library as it is extremely large it took 35 minutes. But you can be getting on with other things as it will continue running in the background and notify you when it has your results.
It found hundreds in the Exact Match category and hundreds more in the similar category. You are presented with a Thumbnail view of each duplicate. I only looked at a few around 20 just out of curiosity and that it was doing what it says on the tin. Because if you were going to look at them all you may as well use the old way within iPhotos. There comes a time when you have to trust the app and go for its recommendations. So I did just that and deleted everything it recommends.

So it’s 5 * from me. And a thumbs up to the developers.

Downloaded after seeing a positive review online. Something had gone wrong with my iCloud backups and I had repeats of nearly 5000 photos. I backed up then used the app. As it was my first time I took the time to check and a very few were worth keeping although I was a tad surprised they got marked. That said I regained about 12Gb of data. Yes a huge amount. And the process was much quicker and easier because of the AI it used. Fab. Five star.

Competitors charge too much and try to justify the cost with useless features instead of optimising for removing duplicates only, so they end up being worse at everything they try to do.

This app focuses on duplicates, and although it takes ages to scan a 66k library, it does show crucial info like file size, which you can use to distinguish between high and low quality duplicates. It also uses the built in photo deletion so you can recover from accidents using the Recently Deleted album in Photos.
