Description
This is an audio player designed to enhance your experience with language learning MP3s, CDs, and podcast materials. It identifies silent parts within the audio and segments them into phrases, allowing for repeat playback of each phrase, insertion of pauses between phrases, generation and editing of text from the audio, speaking practice through voice recognition, and playback speed adjustment.
Upon initial installation, users can enjoy ad-free background playback for a limited period without needing a subscription. After this period, almost all features remain accessible. Registration of an account is not required. The app underwent significant updates in 2022 and has continued to improve in 2023 and into 2024. If you're using MP3s or CD audio for language learning, please give it a try.

- More audio file formats can now be automatically split. Previously, some audio file formats could not be split automatically, but now they can be.
■Recent update
- Fixed an issue where the playback screen could not be displayed on macOS.
- From ver.3.31.0, the text generation method in cut&loop has been changed (iOS 17.4 and later). For iOS 18.0, please select [Per Phrase].
■Tips
- Tapping "Time" at the top left of the playback screen allows you to hide the generated text.
- Tapping on the [Skip] or [Oneshot] text in the playback screen will display the settings screen.
- Long pressing [Skip] or [Oneshot] allows you to easily toggle them on or off.
Ratings and Reviews
Continues to be Best Audio Player for Learning Languages
Been using the player now for 6 months and still finding it a super excellent learning tool. I recommend it to all my IELTS students.
Two suggestions:
- Provide a 3rd row option to save a particular word / sentence, which could then be put in a separate file. I would call this file ‘priority words’. This would allow me to select the most essential vocabulary / sentences from a file, so I can just concentrate on them.
- Have the option to export an audio file (which has already been ‘transcribed’ and ‘worked on’) to another CUT & LOOP app user. This will make using the app more efficient, as it will cut out the time of editing an audio file. Maybe you could have a central website, like Anki does, where files could be uploaded to / downloaded from. If such a thing would mean a lot of work for you, then charging a small fee, in my opinion, seems very good value for money to the consumer.
