Ratings and Reviews
Fiendishly clever but oh so bleak action puzzler
It’s so refreshing to come across a unique game mechanic, and Retsnom really wrings every last drop out of its one. You play a scientist desperate to save his daughter, and end up in a dimensional vortex full of shambling, mindless zombies, with your only tool for salvation being a mirror that allows you to distort space in a limited area around you, allowing you to switch walls and even gravity to traverse through a gauntlet of rooms. The game feeds you new forms of reflections as you go, slowly opening up further possibilities - it’s a real mind stretch, and hugely satisfying to hunt out each level’s hidden secret.
The graphics are not beautiful, but the stark simplicity combines with the moody sonics to perfectly complement a surprisingly strong story. If I have a criticism, it might only be that, phew, this can get pretty bleak. Super game, though.
Great concept but...
I loved the first world, the whole concept of this game is excellent, but I'm now on world 2 and just can't go any further, there's only so many times I can die before I get sick of it. I'll give it a day or two and come back only to do the same thing again. For me it's just too hard, I'm sure some won't have this issue, but I want to progress in the story and unlock everything it has to offer. Id love an update to help people like me out, maybe some hints but until that this game won't be getting anymore time from me
