■No two players will experience the story in the same way■
Alongside DRAGON QUEST and FINAL FANTASY, the SaGa series is one of Square Enix’s most beloved. The first three titles were originally branded overseas under the “FINAL FANTASY LEGEND” moniker for Game Boy, and garnered critical acclaim for their complex yet compelling combat system.
Romancing SaGa 2 takes the varied gameplay of other entries in the series and combines it with an open-ended free-form scenario system whose story is as vast as the world in which it plays out. The player takes the role of a succession of emperors, painting the history of the world with each and every action.
Familiar series hallmarks such as formations and glimmers make a return in this unique title.
It all begins with the song of a lone bard in a bustling pub.
Great nations such as the Varennes Empire, which had once ensured peace throughout the world, stagnated and atrophied over the course of centuries, and sinister forces started emerging in outlying areas.
Ere long, peace spiraled into war and the common folk spoke in hushed words of the Seven Heroes—historical figures who saved the world once and who, it was hoped, would do so again.
▷New classes: diviner and ninja
▷UI specifically designed for smartphones
Fixed minor system issues.
Ratings and Reviews
Quite a few bugs and crashes in this game. Termite den is one of them. Crashes a lot. Other than that it's a good game.
Save Your Money
This game is awful. Boring, repetitive, should have languished in the archives and definitely not worth anything like the £13 I paid! Could someone please being out a decent, old school RPG; how about revitalising Landstalker?
Amazing game but there is some space for improvement
This is basically a remastered version of a legendary game. I really wanted to cry when I entered into this game and hear d that familiar in-game music again the first night I bought and played this game on my iPhone6S. I just wanted to say to SE that thank you very much for bringing it alive and please do remember Romancing Saga 3 as I've been waiting for it for more than 20 years.
However there is still some space for improvement and that is why I cannot five star it. Firstly the virtual control is pretty bad and I rather want to have a visible virtual control panel instead of using the current one. And surprisingly there is no option for control panel.
Secondly I wish this game can have more languages embedded. I really want to play its Japanese version as those skill names are really part of my childhood memory. Apparently Japanese version on iOS has been released earlier. I really do not think that would be a problem for SE to give us a version with multi-language option. It is really something that if SE wants to do then it can surely do it. I cannot think of any difficulty to prevent this from happening. So please do consider to make it happen, my dear SE.
Apart from those two points, I really have nothing bad to say about this game. Anyone who loves JRPG cannot miss this game because as a JRPG lover for more than 20 years I can promise you that you will not be disappointed and this game is arguably better than FF in many ways.
