Drivers are IMO unjustly penalised for living in rural areas. The app urges me to use motorways but there are none and the backroads I use are also the least busy and most environmentally friendly routes. The slightly larger B roads nearby are also narrow, snaking and full of rushing tailgaters. ‘Road type’ is by far my worst metric, that’s simply illogical and frustrating it’s a postcode lottery.Also — major omission — there’s no way to dismiss drives as a passenger, especially when colleagues drive badly. The app isn’t able to distinguish very well when I’m not driving, a real problem if you regularly sit in the middle seat of a van with less than ideal drivers. The machine learning doesn’t cut it, and being able to tag journeys with ’passenger’ would make the app more accurate and help the algorithms learn.I still have a while to go before my insurance renewal but despite completing the test drive period there are no offers of insurance yet. Am I being unreasonable expecting anything? Definitely a work in progress, a sound concept with lots of scope for improvement.

I will admit I sometimes corner a bit sharply or accelerate at the lights a bit quick. So it didn’t surprise me that my consistency was a bit lower than the other scores. I drive mainly on motorways, at 7am and then 5-8pm. My hours and speed were fine (stick the cruise control on 70 - easy peasy). However I was shocked when the app said it thought I was distracted driving or using my phone when I drive. I don’t. I realised it thought I was driving at times when I wasn’t (when I was a passenger or on a bus.) By the app’s logic, I was driving to a park and ride, parking for a bit and then continuing to drive into central Leeds through multiple bus gates and restricted lanes and at the same time use my phone to scroll through Instagram and TikTok, send teams messages and emails and shop on ASOS. I’d be surprised if someone actually could do that. Similarly, the app said I was braking hard. As someone who knows nothing about brake pads and therefore is worried they are already worn at any given time, I am that annoying person who coasts all the way to the red light from 200n away. However a bus driving through rush-hour traffic? Slightly different. This is a good idea for an app but the monitoring needs to be more accurate. It says it uses your driving behaviour to know when you’re not driving but it was clearly counting all the times I was on the bus to think I was using my phone when driving and slamming on the brakes every time a white van cut the bus up.

It is not fair honestly my scores are practically amazing my speeding score is quite literally perfect 😭 my road types at 90% am a really safe driver but guess what cos i both doing nights shifts and night runs i get penalised and i have a very very low score on it it’s clearly not my fault guys i don’t see how it’s fair on us they will convice u to download the app and get you to think they will give u cheaper insurance but really and truely they want u to use other services instead of just insurance i tried asking for a redo i would of asked my work for no late shifts for abit but then when i asked support ur drive test is valid for 18 months which is quite literally a year and a half. if i could give less then a star i would because it’s just not fair how this insurance company automatically assumes am a maniac for driving at night

I was really hopeful that this would work for me. I've got 14 years no claims and always try to stick to speed limits. Downloaded the app and drove for a few weeks. I don't drive far so needed a bit longer than some to get scores. I have never watched my speedometer so much in my life, and it's mostly 20mph around where I live. I had someone tailgating me everywhere I went but according to the app I drive too fast and the speed score was about 40%! I also scored low on the type of roads because I don't drive on the motorway regularly. I drive on local village/town roads at slow speeds and are safe roads. The motorways near me have accidents pretty much on a daily basis! Might be more suitable for people who drive more miles regularly. Unfortunately I got a pop up saying I can't get a quote. I don't believe I have done anything wrong!
