RoughAnimator - animation app 4+

Almost perfect

Hi! I’m going to start my review off by saying I absolutely love roughanimator and I use it all the time, I’ve been doing more animation than I’ve ever been since using this app. It’s very good! My single problem is that I noticed how no matter how many frames you have, it squishes them all to fit on the screen without any scrolling- it creates a lot of problems when attempting to do longer (as in 20 or so seconds and over) animations, as after a certain amount of time the individual drawings become so small they’re almost unmanageable to work with. Do you think it’s possible to add in a feature where you’re able to tweak how ‘zoomed in’ the frames are, so to speak? Much like how you’ve done with the option to select how many layers are fitted onto the screen before you scroll down? Much appreciated, keep up the good work!

Hello, you already can do a two finger pinch to zoom in/out on the timeline :)

Simple and yet near perfect animation on the iPad

First off this is clearly developed by an animator. The tools are where you need them and the little things that you need are at your fingertips.
Like previewing you’re animation and stopping it goes back to the frame you were working on. Or the flip wheel, timeline or onionskin.
There is no cruft or fancy unwanted features here. It just gets out of your way and it’s almost perfect...copying a lot of frames is a chore but then again I’m too lazy to draw and if you are after vector tools keep walking.

If however you want to add sound, video and animate with ease it’s for you.

My Number 1 (raster based) ‘traditional’ frame-frame animation app.

Rough animator is great and I totally recommend it for frame to frame based animations. I use it a lot and have never crashed it or lost any work. I used it on two award winning music videos as you can easily add sound/music. It’s brilliant, real easy to learn, very well designed and laid out- its one of those apps that I can’t believe it’s so cheap. I am not affiliated with the developers/makers, I bought my copy like everyone else so this is a genuine review. I’m very happy with the possibilities that this app brings.
