Colin Deady ,

Good app for reviewing GPX files

As a gravel cyclist I like to be able to preview pre-recorded routes pre-ride and review those I record post-ride. Router lets me do this easily. The only limiting thing for me at present is that I cannot get the right-hand list of points to display distance travelled.

Hypraktiv ,

Limited use as an editor in its current form, but has great potential.

First, the positives: the map overlay works very well, and is seamless and fast to zoom or move around. The user interface is clean, well-organised, and easy-to-navigate.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work very well for its intended purpose, which is editing files. Here are the things which would make it work much better:

-Display the route trackpoints as actual points on the map, instead of just a continuous line, if possible. This would make it easier to visualize.
-Clicking one of these points (or the line) in the map should select the point, and navigate to the correct entry in the list. (Currently, clicking the track on the map does nothing.)
-Make these points (i.e. selection pin) draggable, such that moving one adjusts the lat/lon in the listed trackpoint.
-Display the consecutive number of each trackpoint in the list. (Pressing CMD-G asks which number you wish to navigate to, but this is a shot in the dark unless you know the actual number.)
-Make it possible to add trackpoints.

Make these changes, and I'll rewrite my review, as there is currently no app out there that comes close to the usability of yours, assuming it had these features. (The competition varies from clunky and slow to completely unusable.) Also, please don't delete extensions (e.g. heart rate) in the raw data, as at least one competitor does when rewriting the edited file. And please don't use tab characters for indentation when writing the XML to a file. (I haven't checked whether you do, but this is an abomination!)

An app that provided all of the above features would be worth paying for. This is a great start, but be sure to finish the job! :-)

Developer Response ,

Thank-you for the feedback! Router is something I work on in my spare time… I will add your suggestions to my triage list.
