Another great contribution to the collection

Have played all of the games and loved all of them. Puzzles are just at the right level and I like the graphics and dark nature that is used throughout.
The format of this one is slightly different to the others, but it still works.
Got stuck on the final puzzle out and even though I watched the walk-through, I still don’t understand the numbers that were achieved. I also got stuck on the Ouija board, but that was down to the font that was used all the surname and I think the surname should be made a little bit easier to read as it wasted many hours of my time.
Other than that, great game and highly recommended.

We're happy to hear you enjoyed the tone and format of Roots, smallsteve! Thank you for your review and, most of all, for your support! We appreciate the feedback on the 2 puzzles, we'll take that into consideration in our future projects!

Hmmm....

Nobody can say this isn’t great value for money, that’s for sure. The touble I have with it is that a lot of the difficult puzzles are confusing in the wrong way. It’s not so much the puzzle-solving processes themselves. They have their own internal logic for the most part, even if the results are gruesomely unexpected. It’s where to start a lot of them that’s the problem.
You’ll often be in a scene with little or no relevant equipment thinking ‘well, what do I do now?’, and it turns out that the way you get the ball rolling is to do something you wouldn’t have thought of if you stared at the screen for a week, because the cues just aren’t there. It’s annoying using walkthroughs that make you think ‘how on earth was I supposed to guess I should do THAT?’ before you’ve even found out what the meat of the puzzle actually is. Once you get going though, it’s all good macabre fun...
With no coherent plot and an abrupt ending.

EVERYTHING MAKES SENSE NOW! ... almost

I just finished playing it and HO MY GOOOD I get it. 🤯 Those creepy shadows from the previous games seem less creepy, now that I know who each of the people are.

The puzzles for each family member is pretty easy to figure out, there a few hard ones, like the one for ‘roots’ the clue that everything adds up to 6 is found after you unlock the box ... dunno if that’s a glitch or something. 🤷🏻‍♀️ overall it’s really fun. Animations are beaut 👌🏼 music is great as usual 👌🏼 mysteries are solved 👌🏼 and I’m more hyped for the other games now. Like how does Laura tie in to all this? What are the grandkids doing at the mo? What does Aldous and Mr Owl want to do exactly?!! 8(>v<)8 so excited.
