How does the app work? Is it a service?

I recently bought a wireless CCTV system (4 cameras and an NVR) that apparently can only use RXCamview. I found it easy to setup but within a couple of days of putting up the first camera I stopped receiving notifications on my iPhone and iPad despite my system logging motion events. The notifications then started again the next day, but have since stopped again. I spent a long time looking at this but have yet not solved it.

I wonder if this is because RXCamview connects your NVR to their servers which may have been experiencing service issues. But without any information about how RXCamview works, this is just speculation.

I did find out that if you have UPnP enabled on your router’s firewall, then the app creates port forwarding rules through your firewall from/to the NVR. I assume this is to enable their servers to access your NVR without being obstructed by the firewall. I think it should warn you (in an accompanying manual at least) that it does this.

App is working fine on load only problem is some of the function do not work I.e on iPad I can get 4 camera showing but
after a week it will go to show 16 screen at the same time and when try to make into function of making camera into 4 it will not support

We have a system that we can only view if we put the tv on can not view from our phones we have had the company out several times they said the two cameras were not compatible we have tried to get s refund and all correspondence has failed so left with 4 cameras that are a wasted of time if we are away from home not what we asked for not what we was promised So would not rate the company the service or the equipment as all based on lies and false promises very disappointed went with this company as they said they could give us what we were looking for to view cameras from our phones when we are at work or away on holiday no one ftom the company now answering emails or texts waste of money
