Description
How to register
To use our mobile app you must be registered to use our online banking service. If you aren’t already registered to use our online banking service, please call us on 0800 072 1100 or visit your local branch; opening times are available on our website.
During the app registration process you will need to enter your online banking User ID, password and memorable details into the app. You will then need to set up a 5 digit pass code for the app which you can use next time you log in.
What can you do?
• View all your savings accounts in one place (personal and corporate)
• View your account balance and current interest rate
• View transactions and those scheduled for the future
• View and manage your personal details
• View, send and receive secure messages
• View your account documents
• Transfer money to another Saffron savings account
• Transfer money to your existing nominated bank account
• Set up and manage transfers to your existing nominated bank account for a future date
• Change the name of your accounts to something more personal, like ‘Rainy Day Savings’
• View information about our branches , such as locations, opening times and facilities

Ratings and Reviews
App is OK but transfers out are so sloooow
The app itself is ok, nothing to write home about - does the job. The most frustrating thing is what I assume to be the back end tech/processes for withdrawing funds to your bank account.
Assuming you initiate a withdrawal in what I assume are their “core hours” (10am to 4pm, Mon to Fri?) the funds arrive in your bank account a few hours later. But if you make a transaction outside these hours (e.g. 5pm on a Friday) you won’t see your money until the next working day (I.e. Monday morning). I assume this is to give time for someone in the office to open the safe, put your cash in a plastic bag, courier it over to your bank and then write in the ledger with a quill pen. More seriously it feels like there’s a human step/eyeballs in the chain?
Unfortunately these days I expect an online initiated transfer to happen pretty instantly, regardless of when it was made. This is especially frustrating when wanting to keep cash in savings for as long as possible and only transfer it out at the last minute for paying off credit cards etc.
This factor (plus the lack of an increase in savings interest rate recently) is why I will be closing my account. It’s a real shame as I’m very keen to support the Building Society model 😔 But not having near real time access to my savings is a deal breaker these days.

Useful app, I can see the money in my account and choose to transfer money out into my nominated account. Simple user interface, easy to use app.
