I’ve used this app for a very long time on and off. Guess it’s easier to meet people when you live a very busy lifestyle and don’t have the time to socialise. A lot of time wasters on here just looking to hook up and a lot of people on here that are just so unsure of what they actually want. When all was lost and I was absolutely sick of using this app, a message came through from someone I matched with. 3 months later we are both very happy together and planning our futures.

It’s not the app, it’s the people

The app works just fine. It’s the people on the app who make it what it is. Which is useless. Weird, clingy people just after attention. If you want something serious, you need to give it time. I had always turned my notifications off and I only used to open the app when I had the time to. Not because I am not serious, but because I can’t let a bunch of strangers on an app takeover my phone. Everyone wants your phone number straight away, even if you tell them you don’t want to exchange numbers unless a conversation has a real flow here. Being a woman, I can’t have every lad in the country have my number. That seems to offend them. The seen function is another problem, it’s too ropey. I have been blocked by people just because I haven’t had a chance to reply to them straight away. Guys, no one owes you reply straight away. How many of your mates leave you on seen every now and then? I brt all of them. Too cocky, some men are just on here to prove some twisted anti-feminist point. A word of advise to them, that’s why you’re single!
These are all the problems in the users across any of these apps. Be it minder or muzmatch. Male users. Can’t talk about female users because I wouldn’t know but it seems like we all need to get our priorities straight, have realistic expectations and then go looking for a partner.

Found ‘my person’

I’m a single mum and I’ve tried many apps over the years. I had lost hope in these online marriage apps and ended up deleting them all last year. For some reason, Salaams was recommended to me by someone. So I gave it a go. Within 2 weeks of being on the app, I matched with a man and spoke to him on he phone the same day. Alhamdulillah, I can truly say I knew after the first call that there was something here. We continued to talk daily and met up. I have never felt so certain so soon in my life before. He is my person. He feels…’familiar’, as though my soul recognises him. This time round, it feels comfortable and easy, which is exactly what I prayed for. Still can’t believe it’s happening but I would never have met him if it wasn’t for Salaams.
