Description
Samplist is a MIDI Sampler Instrument which allows you to easily chop a sample into different slices.
You can then play the slices with the velocity sensitive on screen pads, chromatically with the on screen keyboard or with via MIDI.
All this with Realtime Timestretch (monophonic only).
Features:
• Realtime time stretch with individual tempo per slice
• MIDI in, both wired & via Bluetooth LE
• Sample import from Files app or "Open in..."
• Export slices as Zip file to other apps
• Each slice has its own Filter, Envelope & Realtime pitch shifter.
• Record your samples via Microphone.
• Record your performance into an audio file.
More to come in the near future
What’s New
Version 1.4.1
Updated for iOS 14
Fixed MIDI & Crashes
Added ability to record your performance into an audio file.
Attention: This version removes support for InterApp Audio & Audiobus. If you rely on that functionality, don't update yet. I will be focusing on making Samplist AUv3 in the future.
Ratings and Reviews
Has potential
Has potential an iOS needs a sampler like this but the bugs need ironing out. The message from Apple upon buying about no refunds is crap too as the bugs mean you can’t use the app usefully atm. Half the time you make a slice, play the keys and nothing happens! Reboot, start again, it works, then stops again. Triggering notes quickly on the keyboard, again it doesn’t work properly, with note length played being intermittently, also only seems to be monophonic which ain’t great! The slices need looping facility and cross fading and more thought needs to go into the slice setup: setting slices on different keys maybe? Splitting? Layering? Having to select a slice to play it defeats the purpose really. Making it multitimbral?. The filters need envelopes. The time stretching is good but to make that really work the slicing needs to be time accurate and then be able to set the sampler to a tempo: maybe you can set a tempo or sync and I’ve not found it yet though? And Audio units would be nice. As it is I don’t have to much use for it. Back to Samplr.
As a beta it has potential I guess but currently it’s incomplete and shouldn’t be on sale yet.
Developer Response ,
Hey Stanley
I'm pushing an update with Split slices right now.
The app's main function is to chop a sample (like a drumloop) and play the slices via keyboard. you can enable chromatic mode for the current selected slice.
All the stuff you mentiond about looping, envelopes & all is on my list, but you need to understand I'm one guy working on an app. I can't spend months developing tons of stuff and then nobody uses it.
I preferred to put it out there, gather user feedback (Thank you for that) and then go along with user requests.
Don't worry, I'm planning to make this awesome. I want it for myself too ;)
