    time for crap ads?

Usually I use the web version to order lunches, thought I’d try the app. All the reviews were bad regarding payment issues. I’ve just installed the app, logged in with my existing credentials, ordered 2 lots of lunches for different children (at the same school) and topped up the balance. Payment methods and payment screen identical to web version. Input for card details works fine, details visible, font easy to read. Payment went through immediately with no issues. Would be good to have PayPal as an option.Stored card details would really improve this app. Reminders to order lunches ahead of time would be really helpful too. I’m forever forgetting the schools own ordering deadline so an app notification 1 week or 2 weeks ahead of last meals ordered would help? Or even a weekly notification reminding you to check lunch orders? Other than these suggestions, the app is good. I do recommend.

  • Not fit for purpose

I normally use Scopay on a laptop but was out when I got a call from my daughter asking for a top up. Downloaded the app onto my iPhone and managed to navigate my way around with no problems. Then I got to the checkout and found it totally unusable from there on. The interface to input your card details is way too small and you can’t stretch it with two fingers. You can’t see your card details as you enter them as the screen is white. When you do find your way back to the field it just says “hidden” so you can’t check what you’ve input. Not sure what happened next but my basket was suddenly empty. Ended up texting daughter back telling her to wait half an hour till I could get to my laptop. For an app that’s supposed to allow you to pay for things the most important screen, I.e. the payment interface, is totally unfit for purpose. Thoroughly unimpressed.

    Developer Response

**Update** We have now released a fix for the issue when entering card details that you raised, which is available through version 1.2.0 of the App. We'd encourage you to double check the version of the App that you are running and hope that this gives you an improved user experience. Please do let us know if this is not the case via query@scopayapp.com and we can investigate.Dear Mamadabs – thank you for downloading our new App and for your feedback. In your child’s case, the display of the payment pages is based on settings on the school’s own third party payment provider account. We’re working with schools and payment providers to enable the mobile pages to ensure that they display appropriately for all mobile device types in the future.

  • I have a lot of frustration using this app

You cant save your card You can’t see your number of your card while entering it and you can’t scroll the page up either to see it. You can’t delete it and reinput your card number which is really strange and you can’t press back because you need to start again and go back to adding money to the club and then going to the basket. Serious work is required in my opinion. It’s made with the end user not in mind. Apple Pay and / or Google pay would be preferable over card details. I appreciate it’s free etc and to make it better would cost money but I would happily pay £1 to buy the app for it work properly. Btw I’m using the latest version of the app. I’m sorry if this sounds rough but I have spent 15 minutes trying to add funds and I’m about to switch to the website that is slightly better

I’ve been using this app since before the summer holidays. It has made booking clubs a lot easier for me however there is room for improvement. My children attend breakfast and after school club daily and recently my daughter was off school ill, so of course didn’t attend the clubs. We as parents have no way of cancelling or amending club bookings once made. I had to speak to the office staff to do this. Why can’t this be a function of the app and/or website? I would be happier knowing that I have full control over the bookings and can amend when necessary. When will booking clubs be introduced in the app? Rather pointless having an app when you have to go between two interfaces to make full use of this function.

  • Worst app I’ve ever used

Terrible at everything. I can’t put stuff in a basket and then pay for it like EVERY OTHER APP - no, I need to work out how much everything will cost before I can add it to my basket, then add that amount of money to the account, and only when I have added enough funds will it allow me to put stuff in the basket. Totally pointless, it was easier to write cheques and fill in paper forms! It also won’t let me order meals in any current month, only future months. So when we are given the menu before half term I’m unable to order meals for the week they return to school. Absolute rubbish. Also entering card details every single time is so tedious. If only there was an alternative I would use it but they have us over a barrel.

  • Booking out of hours clubs

My child’s school uses Scopay to book and pay for wrap around care. In previous versions of the app you could copy and paste you week meaning the booking process was quick and easy. In recent months this feature was removed. In order to book breakfast club I no need to click on 4 different buttons (click the date, what I want to book eg breakfast or afterschool, click confirm and then click closed). There are I use breakfast club four days a week so this is 176 click for this term. I then do the same for afterschool club so click 352 time in total each term. Surely there is a better way of doing this with all the technological advances? Reintroducing the copy and paste function would solve this issue.
