Scrabble® Vision: Scorekeeper‪+‬ 4+

It’s good when it works but very sensitive to light/ glare which becomes frustrating as you have to manually remove the tiles it thinks it is picking up. It can not detect the rack for hints or making adjustments at the end for left over letters. So ok but could be a lot better

This is a terrible, poorly thought-out app. You have to align the camera to a square window in the app, so you have to stand up and hold your device directly over the board EACH AND EVERY TURN! Stand up, sit down, stand up sit down! My phone has a macro lens, so it should be able to capture the entire board from a short distance away. But no, this app does not let me choose that option. Irritating as that was, what made us give up was that you had to play in a bright room (otherwise it made errors in reading letters) but not with an overhead light (because the shiny coated surface of the board reflected the light and once again the app couldn’t read the letters). Shame.

This is very poor. The camera moves at about 1 frame per second and taking a picture of the game board at about a few feet away is a nightmare. The app design is clunky, requires accounts and is ultimately unfit for purpose for home, club and tournament games.

A better Scrabble app would be, simply, a digital scorekeeper to save pen and paper. with the official word list installed for challenges (like the Collins Scrabble Words app) and an option to enable letter tracking. I think creating the game board in app is better achieved by just typing the played words in, but again this should be optional.
