Impressive
I have only recently started using the app which I'm doing on both the iPhone and iPad but before this used the app for Flex radios. Very impressive, the ability to control the radio from an iOS device is great but add on CW decoding and sending that works, FT4 & FT8 and you have a very light and portable system. I’m hoping that Marcus will add more modes and features in the future and the app goes from strength to strength. As I write this I'm sitting in the middle of a field in a camper van happily working FT8 on 40M with the IC705 and a mobile whip.
Perfection Improved
Previous version had the occasional flaky moment for me, either missing ft8 cycles altogether, or locking into transmit… aside that from that, it was pretty much perfect. Then here comes the update with a very noticeable improvement in stability - I really can’t fault the app now… perhaps the only thing I would ask for… have the transmit checked and locked by default maybe?
Took me a while……
To get it to connect to the internet away from home location !
Once set up, it’s, simply brilliant, all modes including FT8 anywhere, any time, including across mobile data networks.
iCloud logbook, also my IPhone version works well on my IPad too
Works with Bluetooth IPods for total hands free operating!
