See around Britain & See Around Europe form a huge photo gazetteer throughout the UK and Ireland and mainland Europe, designed for everybody, including disabled people, to help decide if a venue will be suitable for visits etc.
Everything from transport access to wash-room facilities can be viewed in a series of photographs of each venue. View the accessibility before you plan to visit or arrive at the venue.
There are well over 500,000 photos taken since his childhood in the 1950’s by Marg McNiel, who was born with a mobility impairment and has spent a lifetime in community and heritage education. An Irish citizen, he has travelled extensively in Europe over many years.
There are many additions and improvements in this release, including:
- New Key Facts section which provides lots of information about specific regions
- Fixed some issues with colour variations not showing clearly
- Added retry option to various sections which require a connection instead of hanging the app.
- Many more minor tweaks and improvements
Ratings and Reviews
Pretty much useless
Despite its description the app is NOT usable by people with vision impairment. It is targeted at people with limited mobility, NOT including all disabled people.
Even on a limited test the app found no info for major London train stations and other venues around th country.
You might be better off with Google Maps and the website of the place you want to visit.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
