Sensate 4+

It really does work!

I'm someone with lifelong anxiety. I'm rigid with tension unless I'm asleep, and for all I know I'm tense then too. Tiny things can tip me over the edge into panic. If I turn to my Sensate when I feel myself teetering on that edge, it brings me back down off it. I've never found anything else remotely as effective.

I've had mine about 8 months. For the first couple of weeks I thought it was downright miraculous; using it, I could feel the tension leaving my shoulders, and seriously, that never happens. I've habituated to it a bit since then, so it no longer has such a dramatic effect, which is a shame; but its ability to calm remains, and I'm really glad to have it.

Great potential

I have only had my sensate a few days so I cannot comment on its longer term impact although I do feel relaxation after each session. I found customer services to be very proactive and helpful when there was a query about my delivery address. Delivery was very fast despite receiving an email saying they were experiencing longer than normal delivery.
I have to agree with the comments about the plus subscription and the app. It is disappointing for the plus to have such a high price given the cost of the device. I am doing the free month trial of plus, and I do see a much greater choice of tracks and lengths compared to the sparse free offering.

The app design is poor - for the price i would expect functionality such as the ability to favourite tracks, set up a little playlist, order and filter tracks by theme/length/date added, see new tracks in their own section, and a tracker of how many times I have used the device (sensate, look at the functionality of the Balance app which is the same price - this is what I would expect please!). I have high hopes for the device having done my own research into polyvagal theory, I just encourage sensate to invest in the app to improve the look, feel and use.

Love it, but there's a problem...

Since the most recent update, everytime I go on the Sensate app, it has just crashed every time I have pressed a button. I have tried restarting my device, but unfortunately it made no difference. I am using an iPad, but I have tried on a separate iPhone and the same thing has happened. Both the iPhone and iPad has recently updated. When I tried a non-updated phone, it was fine.

I am wondering if that was simply the whole point of the update: you can't play the music without the Sensate Pebble connected, and I do have a Pebble, so I should be fine. It just seems odd that you would program it to crash, rather than say "You can only play the tracks when a Sensate Pebble is in range and connected." -or something. The only problem is, I tend to use songs like Big Sleep to help me actually fall asleep at night, without wearing the Pebble, so I'll have to think of a new solution to that problem.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. A bug seems to have crept in with the latest update that causes the app to crash if a pebble is not connected. We have rectified the problem and a new update will be available soon.
