This years goal was to turn my trauma into knowledge and help others, I downloaded the app today and couldn't believe that first affirmation I see; “I am grateful for the opportunities that tough times provide me to learn and grow.” Wow, I needed to read that. Today, I am grateful for finding Shoorah. The app is clear yet informative, easy to navigate and provides a multitude of different activities and tools dependent on what each individual member wishes to engage with. I have personalised my app to a colour that allows me to read easier, which was really helpful as someone who is neurodivergent. My ADHD has loved the calming music theme and I have yet to turn it off during my long train journey. I look forward to listening to more pods. The grief shaming pod hit home and recommend a listen. The chatbot was cool to talk to too! Great app Shoorah.

I had a quick chat with Lorri on Instagram this morning after seeing his post about depression and struggling to get out of it. He mentioned shoorah and asked if I’d used it, which I hadn’t, but I did have the app downloaded. Anyway I decided to take a look at it in a bit more detail, i figured I’d have a listen to the pod casts and the one that really caught my eye was about dealing with grief after multiple deaths… it was like the app knew what I needed to hear. Iv been battling with grief now for 2 years, and it is the trigger for my ‘dark days’ listening to the podcast made so much sense and I felt lighter about life! I’m excited to see where my journey goes with shoorah! It’s well worth having a look at! I didn’t know how much I needed this app! Thank you Lorri and Ferne x

Having had the app a few days now I’ve used most of the main features and I love the look and feel of it! The choice of sounds and theme of the app is a great touch! I have set mine to wave sounds and ocean… I love the journaling feature as I currently do it with pen and note pad but don’t carry it around with me, this allows me to journal far more in the moment which is perfect for me as I have a very impulsive nature - act first think later so this will help me to not be quite so reactive and manage my responses to things. I have used the AI chat facility and it is a game changer, this app is an absolute revelation and going to make lives better.

I’ve been to see numerous nhs mental health professionals and had super long waits to even get to see someone and after a limited amount of sessions you’re seemingly dumped, this app for me is like having help right there 24/7 and knowing I’m never going to be “dumped” after so many sessions for me is a god send, the breath work calms me right down and being able to log how I’m feeling is like being able to tell a friend how I feel and the gratitude and cleanse features really help my days, instead of crying to myself now I’m able to go to the app and do a meditation, personally it’s been a lifesaver for me!
