ShutterCount displays the number of shutter actuations (the shutter count) of your Canon EOS, Nikon or Pentax digital camera - see the complete list of certified models below. The shutter count is read directly from USB or Wi-Fi connected Canons, and from image files for Nikon and Pentax cameras. With ShutterCount you can easily check whether a newly purchased camera is really new, or how heavily used a pre-owned item is. And you can save a trip to a service center by doing the reading for yourself.

Brilliant!

I recently bought a secondhand EOS 5D Mk. III from a very trusted local camera shop. I was particularly impressed by the condition and very low shutter count they stated. However, over time, and looking at the much higher shutter counts on other models of the same age being advertised I began to have my doubts. Then I noticed this APP on the Mac App store and decided to give it a go. It worked straight away and confirmed exactly what the shop had said. I shouldn't have doubted but at least I know that I chose to buy from the right dealer. Thanks.

I tried downloading several apps free off Google before purchasing this.
I was getting frustrated with the downloading process and click this and opening that, so I found this in the app store and thought why not, it’s only £4.

Downloaded in seconds, and results came up almost instantly.
I hate messing about with apps, and I’m happy this is a quick and easy to use.
I love the percentage of the use too, sometimes it’s hard to have an estimate of how long you have left out of all the DSLR camera’s, but now at least I have a rough idea.

FYI, one of my main camera’s is 79% use of it’s total (average) shutter life, maybe a cheap app or free app wouldn’t have told me this.
Overall, very happy. Will be highly recommending this.

Great piece of software!

I got this to get the shutter counts off my 2 old Canon 40D's. Being older 2nd hand cameras I expected quite high numbers but was very happy to see both in the 12,000s.
I had tried other software in the past and gave up in the end.
This software loaded in seconds and got the cameras details first time and very quickly.
5 stars all the way!
