Great App for Sibelius users!
After my physical keypad became incompatible with my new laptop, I spent a lot of time searching for a new one. However as most people looking for keypads are using PCs and using it for data entry, finding one for a Mac to use with Sibelius was proving to be very difficult, and the only decent options were really pricey. I’ve not been using this app long, but already it’s completely exceeded my expectations! Hopefully long term use will continue to prove its worth, but I can’t see myself going back to the physical keyboard. This bespoke app for Sibelius is just ideal!
Great so far
Just downloaded this and it’s really good. Two slight niggles, the “articulations” and “jazz articulations” buttons at the bottom are currently taking me to “Mission Control” or revealing the desktop rather than what they should be doing. To be fair that may be just a conflict in my system I haven’t traced yet. The other thing is, it would be really useful to have a one octave piano style keyboard screen option to use instead of the A-G keys on the Mac keyboard. Oh and more thing, some buttons to select which voice to edit like at the bottom of the keypad in Sibelius.
Just the job
We all know that MacBook needs a keypad, and this it. Since I would usually have my iPad mini along with me, this saves carrying another piece of kit, and in fact Sibelius Pad is even better for the job as it emulates all the Sibelius keypad layouts. One hand on Sibelius Pad, one hand on my midi keyboard, and I’m practically typing music. Happy to pay the extra for the pro version. Well done.
