Description

Sight Reading Factory makes practicing the important skill of sight reading quick, easy, effective and fun! This app composes music instantly and on-demand, providing musicians with a virtually unlimited supply of sight reading material. There are multiple levels of difficulty and the exercises can even be customized exactly to the needs of the musician. Sight Reading Factory is very versatile and can be used by musicians of all ages and abilities including music educators, music students, casual musicians and even professional musicians. Sight reading exercises can be generated for piano, guitar, voice, woodwinds, brass, strings, percussion and even full ensembles.

Teachers and students can also use the built-in classroom management and assignments feature for assessment. Teachers can organize students into classes/groups and create assignments for them. Students complete assignments by generating a sight reading exercise and recording themselves performing the exercise. The assignment can then be submitted back to the teacher to grade and leave feedback.

Phyisco ,

Not quite as slick as web based app.

Takes a while to find all the settings that I’m used to from the web based app. Took me a while to spot 1st note icon, bit small. Other than that it’s fine and a good way to practice sight reading. Wish there were more brass instruments

Amazing

Sight reading practice requires a LOT of music to work through, and this nicely fills that requirement. Ive just started my second year using this and my sight reading has improved considerably. It would be nice to have some more customisation, for example having accidentals appear in the earlier levels, or have modulations for multiple keys, but I could understand this is difficult as its algorithmically generated music.

The music isnt up to a human’s standards but its good enough for the purpose of developing sight reading chops. The app (or website) doesnt seem to remember when i select “none” for symbol and keeps reverting back to solfege every time i open up a new session which is annoying.

Excellent

I use this everyday and I think it is helping my reading skills.
I would like to request an option please to generate pieces that are completely (or mostly) chords as recognising chords quickly seems to be holding my playing back a bit.
Thank you.
