Overall great but......

Clever and mostly accurate, but there some annoying errors. For example last night I was in bed for over 8 hours and it was rated as ok. The previous night I was in bed for just under 8 hours and it was rated good. The trends section shows that on one occasion about five weeks ago that I went to bed at 2pm, which is nonsense, I went to bed at almost 11.

Easy to use but...

Two things about the app:
Your screen is ‘on’ all night - hence the instruction to leave it face down. I’m not sure this is good for the phone if used every day over a long period
The results look ok but don’t agree at all with the sleep patterns I get on my FitBit. How can the Simba app detect who it is monitoring if there are two people (or a human plus dog) in the bed?
The menu to set it going isn’t very straightforward- you find it under ‘alarm’ whereas a link under ‘monitor’ would be better. When you do find it, you have to touch ‘start tracking’ on two pages before it begins monitoring, which is confusing.
Overall it’s a good idea but needs fine tuning abc I’d like to see its performance compared to other sleep trackers

Hey cmc575,

Thank you so much for your review. We're constantly working on improving the app so your feedback is very valuable to us.

In regards to the screen, you definitely don't have to keep it 'on' all night, we even recommend that you don't. You can lock your screen or even exit the app and tracking will continue to work in the background without a problem. If you have screen auto-lock enabled on your phone, it will lock automatically after a while depending on your settings.

We're also currently working on full integration with Fitbit and other wearable devices, which should help with your tracking. One thing to note is that Fitbit, Apple Watch etc. track your movement and motion, where as the app primarily relies on sound analysis, so results can vary slightly. Once the integration is complete, we'll be able to overlay your motion data with the sound analysis to give you even more accurate results.

We'll keep you posted on progress and please don't hesitate to share any further feedback with us via appfeedback@simbasleep.com.

Just what I’ve been looking for

I’m not a great sleeper by any means and have used sleep trackers for a while. But nothing that I feel is specifically tailored to the way I sleep and definitely nothing that has helped to improve the quality of my sleep.

Simba has offered tips and sleep notes have helped me to almost self-diagnose areas for improvement. My length and quality of sleep has improved greatly and I feel much healthier for it.

There have been a couple of bugs which is not ideal, but these were patched pretty much immediately so didn’t impact my results.
