HOW SINGTRUE WORKS
SingTrue features over 30 interactive exercises* that help you learn to sing easily, confidently and in perfect tune. By using the iPhone microphone and sophisticated signal processing, the app analyses your singing and provides personal feedback on how you can improve.
Spend a few minutes practicing with the app's exercises every day and you will rapidly become a capable, confident singer.
If you are already a musician, the app will train your voice and your ears to help you become more confident, more creative, and more musical. In fact, the advanced exercises will help you recognise notes by ear - enabling you to play by ear, write your own music, and improvise freely on your instrument.
The exercises have been designed by experts, in consultation with some of the leading vocal teachers in the world. Building on the success of the RelativePitch ear training app (featured by Apple and used by over 300,000 musicians) and the Tone Deaf Test (4.5-star rated app used by 170,000+ people), SingTrue has been developed to help more people discover their inner voice and naturally become sensational musicians.

Improves singing ability
This is a fun way to try to improve ones singing ability. The exercises help to identify strengths and weaknesses and help to improve the sound, strength and quality of the voice. I've only practiced a couple of times but the exercises have already helped my voice improve. But to be fair most people can sing in the bath!
Learning to sing after being told tone deaf
I have always wanted to learn to sing, but was written off at a young age. After taking early retirement, I decided to take lessons. However, the teacher I went to told me she couldn’t help me because I was tone deaf. I was devastated!
I found an app that tested if you were tone deaf. I took the test, and got 91% - definitely not tone deaf. This app then pointed me on to Sing True. Right from the beginning I have been making progress, albeit slow at times. To be told things like “you are becoming a strong singer” are just what I needed to hear. Thank you Sing True for giving me what a music teacher was not prepared to give.
Not a app for picking up pitch
I’m a professional singer and tried this App in relation to my teaching. I thought it would help students achieve feedback on whether they can sing back a pitch played to them. The tasks were not related to that- but the advertising suggests that it does. Its good to start people off at a comfortable pitch, but I was expecting a clear range of intonation exercises.I don’t see how holding a note longer would score higher-without applying good technique, most people either change, or might hold the note at pitch by applying tension. One good aspect of the App: I’ve taught an intonation class in the past and have used an exercise similar to the higher/lower recognition. But one doesn’t have to do this for very long -the problem to sing back has mostly to do with a combination of wrong technique and lack of confidence.
