Description
Upgrade your Reddit experience with color coded comments, sub-reddit blocking, muting (subs, sites, words, users), ad+nag blocking, and more. It's like RES, for mobile!
Sink It for Reddit is a hyper focused Safari extension that makes Reddit's web version usable. Features a ton of quality of life improvements including color coded comments, content muting, adaptive dark mode and more. Tired of seeing too many banners and buttons asking you to use the app or login? Sink It silently, and safely, removes all of them as well as the "promotional" content too!
Make the "Modern" Reddit Experience Usable
-------------------------------------------
Supercharge your Reddit experience with color coded comments, improved comments navigation, adaptive dark mode, content muting, and so much more.
Sink It also de-clutters and removes most “omfg please use our app” banners and buttons as well as the annoying login popups from Reddit in addition to removing advertisements. Yeah, we loathe them too!
Privacy First
--------------
Sink It has been built with a privacy first approach.
- All the blocking happens on your device with literally ZERO data being recorded or sent back to be data mined.
- We don't keep usage data like the count of how many popups and banners it has blocked or links it has redirected.
- We don't even come with basic app analytics or telemetry to keep track of how many times you've opened or use the app.
- It does check whether you have dark mode on or not so it can show you the correct tutorial video. (I hate opening a bright video on dark mode as much as you.)
If you're a security researcher, feel free to poke around to make sure the app isn't up to anything funky.
What’s New
Version 7.101.0
Thank you for using Sink It. We've been hard at work to keep pace with reddit's changes.
- [New UI] New feature: **Games* links on sidebar removed by default.
- [Old UI] Fixes for scroll jank when engaging mobile view.
- [New UI] Another set of fixes for muting to handle reddit changes.
- A chunk of minor bug fixes.
Ratings and Reviews
Absolutely love this but….
Every time I click a link within Reddit to another Reddit post it opens it up in a none mobile/old style link and once this happens all future Reddit windows are horrible to view until going into safari advanced data and deleting the website data meaning need to log in again. Any chance of a fix please? Thank you
Fantastic Alternative
Reddit killed off so many third party apps being money grabbers so I refuse to use their app. The website plus this add on makes it perfect, no adds and no money going to Reddit. Win win.
Losing patience
This app is consistently broken on iOS, I do all the correct things and flag issues to the dev who says they’ll fix and yet months and months go by and the issues persist.
I’ve lost patience, it was good at first but it is an absolute mess at this point. It simply doesn’t work. Even the reset buttons don’t do their intended job.
A real shame because on desktop it works great but it seems iOS is a dead project.
