Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
It’s good on my phone, but would also like a simple yardage and basic info on my Apple Watch. Is this in the plan?

I like this app. SkyCaddie have realised what Garmin have not, namely, that the future of golf GPS is smartphone based. With a little bit of tweaking this could be a really great app. A better zoom function (perhaps making use of the iPhone’s 3D touch) and better score recording options and interface would improve it. But good screen graphics and up to date and accurate hole data set this apart from the competition. Link it to the GT2 and club smart tags and you have the complete solution. Highly recommended.

I have had the SG5 SkyCaddie for a long time and it was a great asset to my game But it is getting battered. The screen was scratched and the back light had stopped working after getting dropped.So I thought I would try the app. Basic was not good enough so upgraded to premium. After a few false starts I finally got it working.Unfortunately it is not as good as the SG5 and it is not accurate enough in locating your position and to slow updating if the app closes. This slows your game down. It has some good features and the SX500 has these and more so will be changing to that.

As the app is on iTunes and so obviously for Apple phone, why no Apple Watch app? Would be much better not having to use phone and look at Apple Watch. Sometimes quite slow to pick up where you are after phone goes to standby.
