Description

Leave your phone on the ground and jump with just your watch!

Skydive Snitch is your ultimate jump tracker! With a clean user interface, it supports skydive and wingsuit mode, and provides valuable information about your jumps, such as:

· Jump Count
· Elapsed Time
· Freefall Time
· Canopy Time
· Max Altitude
· Exit Altitude
· Opening Altitude
· Ground Altitude
· Max Vertical Speed
· Max Horizontal Speed
· Max G-Force
· Total Distance
· Total Energy Burned
· Average Heart Rate
· Max Heart Rate
· Jump Map
· Activity Rings Summary

On the dropzone, specially with your suit on, you don’t necessarily have access to your phone at all time. This is why this tracker was designed as an Apple Watch standalone application, allowing you to record and see your jump history using only your watch.

Simply start recording before boarding, and stop after landing. You also have the possibility to define a dropzone location and altitude in the settings, for instance when doing an in-jump, or if the landing area is not the same as your starting point. Scroll down in the jump view or use the Digital Crown to pause, resume, or finish the jump recording.

On Apple Watch Ultra, you can specify the action triggered when pressing the Action button to open, or directly start to record a jump. To pause and resume the activity, press the side button and the Action button at the same time.

The jump is also saved as a workout in the Fitness app, and update your health goals and Activity Rings accordingly. You can also see more information there like your heart rate graph. All related health and fitness data are integrated within the Health app.

It requires the barometric sensor to track and compute the absolute altitude. This is why it is only available starting from the Apple Watch Series 6 and SE. If the accuracy is not sufficient, a tilde ~ is added before altitude and speed. In that case, the sensor gives inaccurate measurements and it might take some time between altitude updates. Currently supported models are:

· Apple Watch Ultra 2
· Apple Watch Series 9
· Apple Watch Ultra
· Apple Watch Series 8
· Apple Watch SE 2nd Gen
· Apple Watch Series 7
· Apple Watch Series 6
· Apple Watch SE 1st Gen

Permissions are required for:

· HealthKit: write workouts, access watch sensors, read active energy, activity, hearth rate
· Motion & Fitness: altimeter, g-force sensor, barometric pressure
· Location: GPS location, heading

Skydive Snitch should only be used by skydivers with an appropriate license, and is not a replacement for an altimeter, jumping experience, or common sense. Skydivers should check local regulations or speak to an instructor before use.

By default, only the last 7 jump records are available. The Skydive Snitch Pro subscription unlocks your complete jump history, and all new features as they become available. It also helps to support this project, maintenance costs, and future developments.

Keep calm and remember that this is still just an Apple Watch with basic sensors ;-) Not a fully-featured certified altimeter. In order to deliver the best possible user experience, feedbacks and improvement ideas are more than welcome. Good but some issues

Hi Guys! Love that you’ve made this but have some issues currently, I paid for the subscription however I’m getting no log data. Horizontal speed and altitude can be a little buggy, not sure how you can fix that?

Are you also able to help with getting the log data out of the watch so we can use this in something like fly sight software or even google earth?

Love the work though guys this was needed!

Developer Response ,

Hi Flavin,

Thank you for your review! As skydivers too, we constantly try to correct and improve the accuracy of this tracker. Nevertheless, as the Apple Watch was not primarily designed for this purpose, the sensors might sometimes have glitches, or inaccurate values. The goal is to provide the best experience possible, with the given hardware. For instance, the horizontal speed is retrieved from the GPS sensor, which might not be very precise depending on the conditions.

Regarding the jump history, we don't know exactly what you mean by "getting no log data". Make sure that the required permissions for HealthKit, Motion, and Location are authorized so that the jump record can be saved into the device.

Development and refinements are ongoing and new features and enhancements are on the way. A lot of new features are in the pipeline and will be released as soon as possible, the export function being one of those. If you need any other assistance, you can reach out to us at support@skydivesnit.ch.

Greetings and blue skies!
