Very frustrating App. Login often does not work, just goes back to the login screen time and time again.
I have never been able to activate the pre-heating via the app. It worked (more often than not) when it was web based, but since the App is the point of access, this is just hopeless. Only option: set the preheating from within the car.
All in all very disappointing considering what potential car and App have...

Pros:
• Check battery percentage, range, mileage, and a few other details
• Widget that shows battery percentage and range
• Set up pre-entry climate control schedule
• Start immediate climate control

Cons:
• There’s no option to save my password, and I need to log in every few days
• Startup is slow
• No option to start immediate climate control from the widget, I need to open the app, wait for it to load, and navigate in the menu to that option
• Sending the signal that starts the climate control often fails (around 60% of the time)
• Charging graph often resets during the charging process, so I only get information about the last 10-30 minutes

Would be nice to have:
• Head unit software version info and update notification
• Indicator to show if the roof is open
• Ability to open/close the roof from the app

Such a frustrating app. If it worked properly, this could be such a great add-on to a great car. As it is, it just causes frustration and Smart would have been better off not releasing it; it makes their package look shoddy.

When you open up, you’re rarely greeted with the status of your car. Mostly you have to login, even though you have previously on several occasions, then if you’re lucky, you see the status of your charge. If not, you get a blank screen and have to close down the app.

The function to set departure times and pre-entry climate control would be great, but it rarely, if ever works. It tells you your car’s not responding, even if you’re standing next to it and you’ve just put it on charge. So frustrating.

I wish they could make this work. If they could, it would make the experience of owning an electric smart car so much better. As it is, I think I’ll switch manufacturer for my next car.
