Smarters Player Lite 4+

If you add your playlist file and login and then press restore purchase it does nothing. If you then quit the app and relaunch it again it will restore your pro purchase. I have tried on two devices. Happy streaming 👍🏻

I’m a big fan of the Smarters Player app on pc, but unfortunately the AppleTV version is broken.

Firstly, the scrolling through a list the app will close after scrolling down so far. I’ve tested this several times and happens on each occasion.

Secondly, the UI needs some work on AppleTV. The UI is designed like a mobile interface, and it generally works, but can be very fiddly to get back out of videos or to the search option under the “Live” section.

Further more, there needs to be a search option on individual sections to be able to quickly search for items in a list of thousands.

Lastly, to add to favourites it says to “long press the menu button”, however long holding the menu button actually exits the app. Instead you have to select button on the AppleTV remove, so the functionality works, the label just states the wrong button.

I’m hoping that the developers can iron out some of the kinks, but I’m happy to finally see Smarters Player come to AppleTV.

Every time I watch a stream, no matter the provider, service or country of origin, it will run beautifully smooth at the maximum FPS and quality however it will stop after the first 30 seconds to tell me it has a playback error and it is reconnecting. It does this 5 times before stopping entirely and telling me to pick a new stream. All the while the content is running perfectly smooth. If I find a different stream of the content, it does the exact same thing at the exact same intervals. Either this stuttering issue is intentionally programmed into the system or someone is sitting there pausing my content while I’m watching. Awful service.
