Soulver is a beautiful notepad calculator app that you will love. It has a new kind of interface that is far more useful than a traditional calculator. It lets you use words alongside numbers, so that they make sense and do calculations over multiple lines. Use Soulver for quick calculations, number problems involving variables, unit conversions, and for thinking through problems that involve math.

I've been searching for a replacement to the Popcalc expression calculator, which made every other calculator app seem klunky, but which - like so many great apps - was rendered obsolete by an IOS upgrade. Soulver fits the bill nicely, and has great features of its own. To improve this app even further I'd urge the developer of this one to get his hands on a copy of Popcalc (it needs a pre-IOS 11 device), to see what's possible with a calculator UI. Great effort.
Good app, horrible syncing

Soulver is a great concept. Being able to combine text and numbers but still having calculation occur is great. As a woodworker it’s a wonderful way of calculating dimensions and cut lists. The syncing though is an absolute disaster. In 99% of apps that I use, syncing through iCloud just works - documents I create are just there on other devices. With Soulver though, in my experiences at least, syncing simply does not work and all documents are siloed to the devices they were created on. It’s a good app, just don’t expect it to work across more than one device.

I struggle to remember numbers and to work out arithmetic. I have dyscalculia- like dyslexia but for numbers. It makes day to day calculations tricky!This app is perfect for my brain. I can type things out how I understand it and it'll do the calculations for me.I just used it to work out whether a shelving unit would fit around a freezer. I had the shelving unit dimensions in cm and the freezer dimensions in inches, but it wasn't a problem. I could just say 'freezerWidth=21.5 inches in cm' then calculate from there.Thank you so much.
Keyboard visibility

On the iPad (I’m on 11” Pro for reference), even when you have the Smart Keyboard attached the on-screen keyboard always shows. If you hide it, you can’t type using the Smart Keyboard Case. Very annoying as the onscreen keyboard takes up half the screen! Mac version is one of my favourite apps. Please fix it so we don’t need the onscreen keyboard showing to type using apples Smart Keyboard case like every other app!
