Description
SpeedQuizzing Virtual Buzzer turns your iphone, ipod touch or iPad into a SpeedQuizzing keypad and a quiz buzzer for use at SpeedQuizzing quiz/trivia events.
SpeedQuizzing is a quiz game played in teams, with friends, using phones and tablets, connected over a local Wi-Fi network. The game works great at pubs, bars, conferences, schools, colleges etc.
The most popular application of SpeedQuizzing is as a fresh approach to pub quizzing. Fast, fun and unlike traditional pen and paper quizzes, there is no time for cheats to search the internet for the answers.

Fab App has its teething problems where doesn’t it would be good if you could hear the buzzer sounds as well before you make your choice otherwise no problems
Pub quizzes have evolved…and I love it!
This quiz is so great! Varied enough to keep you on your toes and hard enough to mean that when you do get a fastest finger first question right you feel like you’ve won anyway! It then can become a little competition between team members about who got the most fastest-finger-first questions haha! I like how you still get points for the correct answer even if you’re not the fastest.
I love that there are a lot of music questions and that the selection of questions is varied (too much recent stuff would put me off.) Also having picture questions as well is always good to mix it up.
The app itself runs very smoothly - it is really impressive. We were in a pub last night with three different rooms all doing the quiz at the same time, using different WiFi, with 29 teams and there were no problems at all.
With phones being increasingly fast at sending people information to enable them to cheat in pub quizzes, this is a great way of combatting that, and just generally a lot of fun.
Awful
There was unfortunately no space in the main room so we had to sit slightly in another room.
We couldn’t hear anything and the screen was not in view.
Unfortunately I have a hearing impairment which often restricts me from taking part in activities, and this is exactly why. I felt excluded from the discussion, and even my group couldn’t hear it.
I hope they improve the app in the future so that the questions can be visible on the screen as this would be much more helpful.
