Speedtest Master WIFI Analyser 4+

Just getting started

I’ve only just got this app on a “trial basis” (0.49 for the first month - then £7.99 annually) as I’m seriously thinking of getting (meaning needing! ) a “booster” (note - not just an “extender”) for my internet coverage since my internet provider signal strength tends to fluctuate through the day. This is something I have only just discovered due to trialing this speed test app. According to my ongoing contract (including all the annual increments!) I should be getting around 50 - 70 mbps (not exactly sure on actual speed) - but whenever I test the speed my max is never more than 48 mbps. And having tried it last night I found it only reached low thirties mbps - and the app told me that would be okay for streaming movies, BUT NOT for downloading photos or gaming! Which is something I’d like to take up with my internet provider!
I’ve given it four stars only, but this is (just) because I’ve been using it for a very short period - the last three days. It’s now on two of my Apple computers, and so far, it seems like a worthwhile app to purchase - not just for home use, but when travelling, or staying with family or friends.

Consistently accurate

Speedtest by OOKLA has been very intermittent with its results lately giving slow speeds for ow latency connections and higher speeds for stupidly high latency timings which appear completely random to me, as do the d/l speeds lately and having tried several online utilities I have found this Application to consistently match the average speeds of the others - it’s also very fast, taking a mere 30 seconds to get you a result - some may argue this isn’t as accurate as a larger packet but it’s averaged anyway, performing several tests gives consistent results and the history makes spotting patterns in peak-time usage very simple. The only thing you can’t do is select a server to ping which would be handy if you happen to be routed via one you wish to test for heavy traffic or noise.
Otherwise a great App, more steady and reliable than OOKLA and without any needless ads that make it no more accurate or useful than this, in fact it just clutters the interface needlessly - I’ve been a long-time user of Speedtest but in recent months it can’t be relied upon to provide accurate speeds which can be verified by using any other online test.

Ruined

Since the latest update the app doesn’t work, I was very happy with this app until the recent update now it won’t connect and I get a message saying ‘network unstable unable to connect’ this has been going on for days now 🤦‍♂️(oh by the way there’s nothing wrong with my broadband connection and it’s very fast 100+mg)
I urge other don’t bother with this app as it no longer does the thing you download it for ie connect to your network and run a Speedtest, it is rubbish since the update and as updates are supposed to improve the app not ruin it this update has been an epic fail. App deleted until you fix this
