An exceptionally high-quality, interactive game designed by Speech and Language Therapists/Pathologists to help children learn listening and language skills, from the authors of Receptive Language Assessment with Splingo, Pronouns with Splingo, Categories with Splingo and Actions with Splingo apps.
With thousands of different word and sentence possibilities, as well as US or UK voice options, Splingo the alien’s spoken instructions will guide your child through a galaxy of language learning.
Your child will practise their listening and language skills by interacting with the images and animations on the screen to follow Splingo the alien’s spoken instructions. As a reward, they will love helping Splingo build a space ship and complete the tasks in order to get him home. His hilarious animated responses will capture your child’s imagination.
Splingo’s instructions range from a very early level of language development, e.g. single word recognition, to much more complex, e.g. instructions combining several aspects of language at once.
A guide to the levels:
•Level 1 -contains instructions of 1 main word and is suitable for children at a developmental level of about 18 months onwards, e.g. “find the apple”
•Level 2 - contains instructions of 2 main words and is suitable for children at a developmental level of about 2-3 years, e.g. “find the red apple”
•Level 3 - contains instructions of 3 main words and is suitable for children at a developmental level of about 3- 4 years and upwards, e.g. “find the big red apple”
•Level 4 - contains instructions of 4 main words and is suitable for children at a developmental level of about 4 years and upwards, e.g. “give the big red apple to the boy”
While your child is experiencing an entertaining, motivating game, you can be reassured that they are learning a variety of different aspects of language, including naming words (nouns), action words (verbs), location words (prepositions), description words (adjectives), e.g. color, size and much more!
The game is completely customisable so you can create a combination of levels and word types to suit your child’s developmental level.
"The children all love Splingo...especially the encouraging words (yep, yep, yep, ooh whoo etc!) and the rocket! The pace is great for speech/language delayed children."

Could be good if sound works! All my other apps have sound, no mute button on, volume at max, I restarted iPhone and uninstalled and installed app again but still nothing
My kids love this app. It gives a "reward" at the end of each section, it's simple to use and plays like a game. It's helped with listening skills and following instructions.
This could be brilliant - instead it's quite annoying
Great idea… but it is too easy for the target audience to make the game freeze every time they use it. It destroys any sense of progress. What happens? My son, who has Down Syndrome and whose fine motor skills are not great drags the whole screen when he is trying to place an item on or before or to the side of another. And when that happens the game freezes, ending any progress in building the rocket. He cannot create a pure pointing finger - his palm catches the screen as well.
This is not a problem with other apps.
It is a real shame, because it is enormously frustrating and undermines those rounds for him, Well it either ends them. Or I do them - 41 year old with no learning difficulties… We have not played since this round of updates. so apologies if this has been sorted.
Anyone else suffer similarly?
