Adding your voice with a podcast is now easier than ever. Record your show and sprinkle in sound effects, transitions and background music. You can even co-host with up to seven other users over Wi-Fi and mobile.
I discovered anchor after years and years and years of wanted to podcast not really have an equipment at the finances to do it it is a very very simple app and everybody should try at my only glitch with matter is that it does take an hour or 2 to come to life so if you’re doing the morning pod cards it does take a few hours for it to actually reach platforms where you will get a Norsis feed which is amazing that’s the only negative thing I can think about that about the great thing is that you can add segments even after publishing but haven’t figured out how I can monetise my account and join it on today payment scheme that they are connected with as they are not connected with PayPal and I am beaming my podcast from the United Kingdom.
I’ve been using Anchor for almost two months during which time there have been a few updates and each has made my life easier! It’s easy to use, has some great functionality and makes podcasting a breeze. I’d love some more transitions and more chilled background music, but apart from that I think it does everting I need at the moment and I especially love that I only have to make any changes on Anchor for them to show up in all the other places my podcast is available. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with next!
I think the app is good, but improvements could be made. One thing I love about the new update is that they have gotten rid of the 5 minute malarkey. I hate time limits, so this made me happy. The one thing though that frustrates me is that the app no longer supports or works with voice over. I was so excited by some of the new updates, I recommended the app to many of my visually impaired friends, who are looking for an audio based, social networking platform. Only to find that voice over isn’t supported on here. This is a real shame as this means the VI community are missing out on a good app, & anchor are missing out on growing a community of people who benefit from social platforms like this. I really hope someone from the team sees this & takes this into consideration. And I hope to see voice over & other accessibility improvements in the next update. It would really be appreciated.
I’ve just made my first podcast with Anchor, with my snowball mic plugged into my iPad Pro. I found the system generally easy to use but extremely buggy. It regularly gets stuck on screens in the profile views requiring a force close, and splitting clips after editing them seems to freeze up. If I go to add those split clips from the library, they suddenly all appear, but not completely in the correct order. If I rearrange clips, it won’t play them in the order I’ve rearranged until I hit save, even though the UI seems to show that they should be playing in that order. Also, it’s unclear how I’d create a second podcast and after realising that my profile URL is what would be used for my podcast, I can’t seem to change it, I just get an error when I try.
I can’t thank these guys enough - have made the process launching a new podcast across multiple platforms seamless. My only constructive feedback - and it isn’t my core usage for the platform - is that recording can be hit but more miss. On a number of occasions, I have recorded with someone else in another location (and we have done this on different devices and across the country as we travel) and whilst joining a group together is easy enough, the quality just doesn’t cut it. The connection drops and compromises the audio. This would be of desperate help as currently I’m still chained to a recording studio and a mic - which if this quality was improved and stabilized, would be a game changer. Currently it’s only a smart distributor - but that’s all I primarily use it for - hence the 5 stars.Keep up the great work guys - I really do appreciate everything you’ve done and continue to do.
i'm a vision impaired podcaster and have been using this app for over 2 years. but i gotta say, it's crap that they don't support large text size. i can change the text size while the app is open but as soon as i close it and then open it again, it's reset itself to 100%. larger text also messes with the formatting and makes some features unusable.their notifications don't work at all. i keep getting responses to my episodes and not seeing them because the notifications don't show up. i brought this up in the support chat months ago, they said they'd look into it but still nothing.it's crap that many features are only available in browser or even only on PC when not everyone can use them, and they could be easily incorporated into the app.i've spoken to the support chat many times and while they were sometimes helpful, more often than not they were unhelpful and often outright condescending to me because i couldn't do the things they asked, like "check if it works on a PC". just make your features accessible everywhere, to everyone.
Not good with recording with friends, external mics and new iPads. It doesn’t have an option of deciding what mic to use on the iPad. So whenever I plugged in my Bluetooth headphones it would automatically think that i wanted to use the mic that comes with the headphones rather than the external mic i connected to my iPad. Not using headphones doesn’t really work as the anchor app won’t let the audio on the speakers to go completely down, so the other person could still hear themselves and my mic could capture the little bit of sound coming off my speakers. This seems like an easy fix? Not sure why they haven’t allowed for mic and headphone selection on iPad.
To the team at Anchor,I’ve been using anchor for a few weeks now and I am finding it really easy to use. However I do have a few little tips to make it even better.First of all, I went to edit some audio and I realised I could only choose where it started and finished, it would be very helpful if you could change this so that people can cut out little bits of audio.Secondly, I would like an option to put sound effects inside my audio, this could be part of the editing process because currently you can only have them in between audio so you have to stop and start to put them in, this effects the quality and the flow of the episode.I understand that features like these may take time to edit into the app but it would be great to see them in a future update!Yours Faithfully,Edith, at storyteller’s hut, a podcast on anchor.
I used to record and post my podcast with a Samsung phone and loved it. BUT since moving to iPhone I have realised that there is one key feature that is missing that is unbearable to live without. On my iPhone app whilst recording a podcast, I cannot pause and delete segments and continue recording once I have started. The app only allows me to record the whole podcast in one sitting which I can never do. Please fix this please guys as it will mean that I can no longer record my podcasts using the anchor app. I am very surprised it’s even not been included.
I love this app but every now and again it takes away the music option. There’s no warning. I introduce a song at the end of my podcast and then, without warning, the music tool goes missing. Not every week, just now and again. Help is good but they do hang up on you if it gets too difficult. ie the music problem above. It delays the podcast by three days for email support or you just have to edit telling your listeners the music wouldn’t work. Doesn’t sound professional. Please sort this glitch out, otherwise it’s fab.
