Happy with Squarespace although there’s some bits that annoy me like not being able to sort products in price order. Also when I upload a product via the app on my phone and select photos, I can’t access my folders only recents and you can’t see favourites either.
Hi! We appreciate your thoughtful review. We don’t currently offer that feature, but we’ve sent a suggestion to our development team on your behalf. Although we can’t guarantee implementation, your input goes a long way.
I am a website designer and sometimes like to tweak my website from my phone or ipad. Squarespace has terrible integration with IOS, the inability to add blocks, the consistent saving problems, lagginess and overall little to no features available. Computer however is great but just needs updating in this day and age as using an iPad is ever so common instead of a laptop or PC.
Thank you for your review. The Squarespace app doesn't currently support all of Squarespace's features. Some actions, like adding pages or blocks, will have to be done on a computer. If you're seeing performance issues with the app, please contact our Customer Support team at appreviews@squarespace.com and include any relevant information about the issue you're experiencing. This will help us to speed up the troubleshooting process. Please let us know if we found a solution for you in an updated review.
Edit - after my last review things improved and I had good access of the new in app analytics for a few days - although it made me log in with password on every opening - but since yesterday I just have a blurred screen and rotating circle icon with app not even loading - despite deleting and reloading 😫 I’ve had the new app for a while, but still kept using old familiar analytics app - now forced to use the new app since old one has been switched off - only the new app keeps reverting to old layout on my iPhone. Click on analytics and it tells me to download analytics app that you have now switched off ?? Then get stuck in that page - literally have to close the app leave it a few hours and reopen app again & it loads as new app - great - I go and look at analytics that works fine, but as soon as I use the ‘home’ button it takes me back into the old app - which is switch off - it’s like being stuck in Groundhog Day - only I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong - so I can no longer monitor my website on the move. Very disappointing.

Where to start with this review... in some ways the app is an improvement on the previous blogger app, in that it more closely replicates the website functionality, and in theory increases what you can do from the iPad at last. And yet there are still so many basic problems that I wonder how this ever shipped. Things that are actively worse:1. Editing a post that has already been published is actively difficult. I can’t scroll the markdown view, making that view useless. 2. I can’t seem to create new tags for posts, only select from the ones I have. 3. The URL structure for posts authored in the app is different to those on the website, and they are less SEO friendly. Things that still aren’t address in this version of the app:1. Embed blocks still don’t support Soundcloud links, something pretty crucial for a music blogger, and functionality that has existed for years on the website. Why wouldn’t the embed functionality just use the exact plugin structure of the website?2. You can’t animate images in the way you can on the website. It’s a small thing, but again... makes it hard to just use the mobile app without also working with the website. As someone who increasingly focuses their workflow on an iPad rather than a laptop, it feels like Squarespace are really dragging their heels on providing proper support.
Building a website on a main computer is a relatively simple experience with SquareSpace. Editing & updating the site via the app while away from the computer though is massively frustrating. The app itself is very clunky, slow to use & riddled with issues, for instance I’m currently trying to edit some text on my homepage, but in the editor, the viewing screen will now allow me to scroll down to see the bottom of the page, it keeps pinging the viewing area up to an earlier portion of the text, which makes typing & editing the text impossible (Im attempting to add a hyperlink, which I can’t do as the screen scrolls away, locking out of highlighting the text to add a link).Furthermore to this, the app is missing a LOT of tools available on the main site, even simple stuff like adding a photo album to a blog post, is unavailable on the app. I’m greatly disappointed, as one of my goals with the site was to update it regularly with blog posts & fresh pages, which the app struggles with greatly, & being mobile with my work, this is a major shortfall.I’ve reached out to customer service, who did back to me, basically saying “that’s all we’re adding for now, good luck”. If I realised this when choosing my site provider, I wouldn’t have settled on SquareSpace.

Updating on my 2-star review below, things are getting worse for me, not better.Tags added in the app now only get added in lower case, even though Squarespace tags are case-sensitive. This means all tags get forked into upper and lower case versions and related posts are not linked (if you have pre-existing tags created in the web app). The URL issue remains unsolved. After 3 years of blogging on Squarespace, I have come to accept that I can no longer manage my workflow on mobile.Site looks pretty, though, and switching platform would be a massive pain at this stage…(I’d rate Squarespace as a whole pretty well – desktop is great – but this app is a huge let-down for me.)——Old reviewThe two big problems for anyone creating blog posts in this app:1. The post URL does not match your configured naming scheme (goodbye /blog/post-title; hello /blog/g1bberi5HhAHvGK)2. You cannot create tags. Both of those were fine in the old Blog app.I eventually got a reply from support, who confirmed that new tags are not implemented, then suggested the naming scheme issues may be caused by custom CSS on the site. Rather than accept the goose-chase invitation to remove all customisation and retest their product for them, I plumped for manually entering the URL every time. Was not a huge fan of the Blog app, but this is a downgrade for me. Hoping it will improve.
Thank you for your feedback on the app, we've shared this with our development team. Customer input is an important part of how we continue to improve the platform, so we appreciate your feedback.
