Ratings and Reviews
Great App if your gym has Stages Bikes
App works well and provides a display as well as review of spin classes as the gym has Stages bikes which connect up via BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) to the phone, no need to pair your phone first simply open the app, click the button to connect with a bike (in app) and select the correct sensor number.
Only real complaint is the data does not then sync with apple HealthKit, I wish it synced I to HealthKit to allow me to analyse the data easily on the phone without having to go to their website (the app itself only provides high level data as well). If your looking for full analysis head to their website and you will find it all there.
Not pairing with Stages bike
Up to today I had been able to connect to the stages bike, after pushing quite a few buttons on the bike and getting lost in the ‘settings’ menu on the console. However, after a recent upgrade, the pairing doesn’t seem to work anymore. Kept pressing connect button of the relevant bike, nothing happened.
The coloured power zones on the app are quite useful as they give a quick indication of your effort level against your FTP. Together with the percentage they indicate current watts and rpm. It doesn’t indicate speed and mileage so besides pressing the stage button on the app you also have to press the console button for that data. Not so handy if you are doing a time trial. The figures, other than the percentage, in the yellow zone are in white so you can’t actually read them.
The app is also supposed to send you a workout summary by email after each workout and I have had only 1 or 2. Those summaries would be much better accessible if they were on the app.
Landscape please
Pretty good basic app. If the developers are reading this then please can we have the option to use landscape orientation?
