Description

Starry Landscape Stacker makes it possible to produce landscape photographs taken at night that have both low noise and stars rendered as points. It does this by compositing several images taken in rapid succession, shifting the sky as needed to align the stars. A free trial version is available on the developer's website.

What’s New

Version 1.9.8

Fixed a problem that would cause Starry Landscape Stacker to crash during the alignment phase if the image files did not have a capture time and there was not enough memory to process the images in memory.

Fixed a problem in some warning messages where the “Ok” button would be hidden if a large number of image files were being processed.

5 star (actually millions of stars)

I’ve been using Starry Landscape Stacker for Milky Way shots for a few years, and have been really happy with it. But now discovering it’s even better than I originally thought now I understand it better. The developer is super responsive and helpful regarding questions and has defined modifications for me to make the app easier and better to use. I can’t rate the support or the app highly enough. I couldn’t take the starry night shots I do without it.

Incredible

This app is just so easy to use and the results are amazing.
Can load a few dozen 42mp photos in and within a minute or two I have a perfectly aligned image with almost no noise.

If I could give any critique it would be the logo... It looks a bit misplaced on a dock full of nicely designed icons. But thats being real nitpicky.

Easy to use & very quick

I recently discovered this app via Ian Norman at Lonelyspek.com. Its is so easy to use & very quick to align & composite multiple milky way images.

Using this app has also enabled me to speed up my process of taking images by allowing me to use higher iso values & shorter exposures, as the program will stack them & vastly reduce any noise captured at 10,000 iso.

Lastly .. I contacted the developer with a queerly last night & was pleasantly surprised to receive an email back with all of the answers I needed within a few minutes.
Definately recommended.
