startrescue.co.uk was possibly the first breakdown company to offer an app that allows you to report your breakdown without having to make a telephone call. Features: Unlike other vehicle breakdown apps, the startrescue.co.uk app does not require you to make a telephone call to report your breakdown. Once you have completed the simple registration process, reporting your breakdown takes less than 15 seconds. When we receive your request for assistance we will already know who you are*, what type of policy you have*, where you are and what may be wrong with your vehicle. Thanks to your smart phone’s built in GPS, we will know exactly where you are. We will call you back and confirm your details, saving you the cost of the phone call. If you are not a startrescue.co.uk member, we will provide you with a quotation for our Pay On Use assistance. When help is on its way, you will receive a message stating who will be attending and how long they will be. The app is free and available to both startrescue.co.uk members and non-members. *Only startrescue.co.uk members will benefit from this feature.

In my recently purchased van (016 plate) it blew up on a very busy slip road near Ferrybridge, I was terrified, I called Start Rescue and they were there in 20 minutes. The highway pick up man was so helpful and gave us loads of information, got us to our garage safely and was very professional. I can’t thank you enough and apologise for being a little short tempered on during the call due to fear

I was with start rescue for some time in the past then moved to ram and last year got my van cover from them My van battery ran out I ordered replacement battery and called recovery My initial thought was like AA or Rac the driver can simply install the battery and the job will be done After 4 hours of wait driver finally arrived and said we will be charged for the battery replacement When I asked the drive can you take us to garage the driver wanted to have confirmed booking with garage , I called garage and told him about the situation if recovery called then tell him we are booked While I was in the phone with garage trying to get hold of their manager the recovery driver drove off He was more interested in getting the booking confirmed with garage before we go there Called customer services to get the update as driver lied about returning back when confirmed with garage but he called from Private number leaving us stranded for another day The customer service team tried to assure us it’s a one off incident and they can rebook for next working day when no one is available to see the recovery driver Ended up sorting the battery replacement my self with the help of someoneWill never use this company againThey use third party contractors who are of no helpDo your self a favour and consider green flag RAC or AA

I have unfortunately had to use start rescue quite a few times over the last few years. The app is easy to use, I always get rescued in a decent time and have never had any problems with start rescue. I just have problems with every car I’ve ever owned 🥲😂

Warsaw trip
Few years ago my car broke down in Germany. It was a real nightmare; night, freezing cold with rain and car standing on the fast lane of autobahn. Start rescue team was amazing in organising help for us. I used an app to contact start rescue and everything worked just fine.
