Why you change

Hate this new redesign. I loved stitcher’s easy to use, large, clear UI. Now it’s turned into a generic podcast app.
The blue/green system has gone! This was so so quick in identifying what it needed to: played/unplayed downloaded/not downloaded. This blue/green system was one of the best defining elements of your app—lost now to the sands of time.
No ability to change the size of icons, good luck if you have poor eyes.
Groups now gone! I now have to scroll through the entirety of my podcasts in one big bulk (which is subdivided into groups), before I could just left swipe back to my podcasts menu. To top that off, it’s removed all of my podcast groupings, so now I have to trawl through dozens of investigative journalism pods to find my fiction ones.

Various other bugs/ergonomic shortcomings include lack of left swipe to return, now I have to reach for the downwards arrow in the top left of the tab—this is poor.

The final cherry on top, it has reset the played/unplayed nature on every single podcast I follow. I follow about a hundred podcasts, so this is actually pretty annoying.

Sorry stitcher. It’s been fun, but I think I’m gonna stick with my Wondery sub only, when billing comes around.

Terrible redesign

Despite going through beta testing, this update has removed almost all of the user friendly functionality it used to have and added options which I can’t see anyone in their right mind requesting.

In updating the app I lost all of my downloads, although it appeared they were still there the app “couldn’t find them” so I had to delete them all and then download them again. You can’t select a batch of episodes and ask it to download them, you have to go into every episode individually and request it be downloaded.

This was made even more infuriating by the fact that it had deleted all of my listening history and removed the option to filter podcasts by season. For instance, I was halfway through DLM and so I now have to scroll past hundreds of episodes to reach the season I am on. The “Search Episodes” function doesn’t recognise numbers so I couldn’t even search for S07, or the episode number 787, even though they both appear in the episode title as displayed by Stitcher.

Why would anyone want or need to sort a show by episode length?
“I’m really interested in this podcast but instead of listening to the most recent episode or going back to the first episodes, I’m going to listen to it entirely out of order, starting with the longest episodes and working my way through until I get to the really short trailer episodes”

Also, who needs a sliding scale of playback speeds, and who is going to listen to a podcast playing at 3x the regular speed?

Upgrade ruined my experience 😕

I have no idea where I am with this App now - it’s more difficult to work out where I’ve got to with my listening without the green/blue played/unplayed. Message to the Developers: colour is SO much better for visual management than symbols. What on earth made you change this?

The feature which allows you to set playback to STOP after each episode if you prefer, has been handily REMOVED (but this is sold as an improvement!!??) Now I wake up after falling asleep to a podcast (which millions of us do!!!) to find the playback has gone on for hours!

I now spend ages resetting episodes I ‘listened to’ while SLEEPING, to unplayed! Not great if you’ve woken in the night and quickly want to pick up where you left off when you fell asleep!

And it’s so WHITE! The black background was perfect for night time listening. Now I get total glare in my face at 3 in the morning when I just wanted to calmly drift back off to sleep if I woke up.

The screen is so busy and scrunched up there is hardly any room to scroll through episodes.

It’s one thing to add and improve features but to TAKE AWAY functionality? SERIOUSLY?

I listen to content using Sititcher for hours everyday. These changes leave me totally bamboozled. I am in mourning. I am bereft.
