Great for watching web vids

Works great for most things. Is very clunky getting it to cast web videos, but once going no problem at all.
Casting your own photos and videos? Well, I don’t know. The only option I get is to search through all my photos and videos, all 11, 500 of them, from the start, circa 2013. Imagine the fun trying to play your most recent video and every time having to manually scroll through the entire list of thumbnails as no access to albums seems possible.
Okay app with many avenues of improvement available to the developers.

About fifth time round trying to get pro version...

Nightmare on Google Street!

I’m an old techie, early adopter, G-fan - until today! This thing is definitely not plug n play! I found it awful to set up and two hours later, I still can’t work out how to cast a video from my phone to my TV. Yes, I can buy a video from Google - but I can’t play a video I have already downloaded! And the setup is flawed. I fired up Chromecast (the app) and tried to add a new device. It told me to try Bluetooth. (It was on) Then it told me I had to install Google Home! (If it is vital, why isn’t it installed with Chromecast) Then GH couldn’t find the dongle. Finally I got them talking to each other and then GH said “Hang on, you have to wait while we install the latest Chromecast s/w - this may take 3 or 4 minutes” It took 34 minutes - and I had only just installed Chromecast from the Apple store so why wasn’t that the newest one? 🤬 And I still can’t see how to cast my video! I installed Apple TV a couple of years ago and that took seconds! I am now hours older and sadder than when I opened the Chromecast box. Shame on you Google!!

Essential modern viewing

The title says it all. If you’re anything like me, you can’t afford a huge entertainment system with a smart tv and the biggest package sky tv can offer. That’s where Chromecast and it’s app come in. Watch anything you want on the biggest tv you have just beamed straight off your phone. You can even pair your phone screen in case you wanted to flick through a photo album without having you’re phone passed around the whole family. If you don’t have a Chromecast yet, you either have way too much money and should consider donating something to the people that really need it, you’re a technophobe or haven’t had a fair demonstration. I guarantee if you go to your local store and ask them to show you it, you’ll want it.
